Note to self... the edit icon is different than the quote icon.
And for what its worth, the drawing will be held on Aug 29 - not the 30th as originally posted.

I won't be racing at VIR this weekend, but you can buy tickets from Rich (Pirelli vendor) and Aaron (CornerSpeed).
Please consider picking up a ticket or 2.
Proceeds will go toward helping our wounded veterans and their families
And who knows?  Maybe you'll win one of these kick-ass prizes...

News Update:

VIR, Cornerspeed, and Patriot Racing are teaming up to hold a trackday fundraising event on the South course at VIR on Friday August 13.
This date coincides with the AMA National race event on the same weekend.
Several riders have agreed to visit the South course paddock as their schedule allows to sign autographs and interact with the trackday participants.
We are also putting together a silent auction comprised of donated items by sponsors and riders alike.
More details will follow. We will be issuing a press release on July 1 with more details on the event.

OTT released a video that we shot earlier this year
In it I discuss our mission, the missions of our charitable sponsors, some of our goals and the raffle fund raising effort we are currently holding.

On July 3, 2010, we held our first Race to Recovery event of the year. The Independence Day weekend was a fitting holiday to honor our wounded veterans and their families. Thanks to the racers and race officials, this was our best hospitality event to date. It was heart-warming to see so many racers reach out and engage these soldiers.

RnR Cycles, Vondari Racing and others went out of their way to interact with the vets and their families; answer their questions and welcome them into their pit areas. CCS Staff and the MARRC corner workers made special accommodations to enable the soldiers to get out on the track for a lap in their bus and give them a behind-the-scenes perspective on the sport we love so much.

At the end of the day, every one of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed their time with us. One of the soldiers races with CMRA in his homestate of Texas. The smell of race gas and the sound of bikes screaming down the Summit Point front straight, had him looking forward to getting better and getting home.

From commenting on how nice it was to be in the country for a day, to the warm welcome by everyone in attendance, it was clear that our mission was accomplished and the vets enjoyed their time away from the confines of the hospital.

Patriot Racing's Race to Recovery events have become roadracing's way to give back to our brave men and women in uniform. There is no way that we would have this impact on the lives of our wounded warriors without the involvement of so many of you in the roadracing community.

Thank-you for your continued support. Join us at Summit Point on August 28, 2010 for Race to Recovery #2 of 2010 when we will do it all again.
