I'm going to the Learnign curves school at blackhawk the 22nd. i will be bringing my children 10 and 13 yrs old. What are the rules as far as where can they go? I called Blackhawk already and got their rules but what about CCS? They are at NJMP and cant answer the phone.
The layout at Blackhawk is extremely spectator friendly.
Specators have the run of the entire interior of the track which is where the paddock is located. There is chain link fence which limits how close you can get to the track.
On Hot Pit spectators under 16 must stay behind the fencing.
You must be at least 16 to drive a motorized bike or cart but bicycles are permitted for all ages.
The track actually reminds me of a State Park with tons of big shade trees and great spots for camping. You'll usually see several big bonfires going each night.
Very family friendly.
awesome thanks
The biggest thing is getting them used to bikes zinging around in the paddock. It's too easy for an unfamiliar tween to run out onto a paddock road during 3rd call and get clipped.
William, you coming up Friday or Sat morning?
I will also be doing the LCR class on the 22nd.
Jason, friday evening.
how do you get 284 smites before you even have your license? nice work :D
To add to what Burt said.
Make sure your kids watch out for ALL traffic. Alot of spectators drive around and some are not so attentive to where they are driving. Especially around the pavilion, tower and tech building. Seems to be a magnet for stupidity with spectators.

The guys you need to know are the ones wearing all white in the corners.
BTW you'll probably be meeting me up once or twice. Cant miss me. Big red truck with trailer.
im trying to find videos on youtube so i can get the layout and memerize the corners but i see videos going on direction round the track and vids going the other. any direction which way we will be going this month.
always clockwise. if you really found a video of blackhawk being ran CC, i'm sure i'm not the only one that wants that link :D
I ran BHF counter clockwise once.
It was during a Keith Code school.
He decided to ride the track CC for a full day.
Very interesting. Especially turn 3 which becomes a decreasing radius turn.
