Title: Yet another LW thread

In the rulebook under LW Supersport it states that BMW HP2, Ducati/Bimota/BMW Supermono/Woods Rotax are excluded from LW classes.
Does this mean that all Ducati and Bimota models are excluded from Supersport or only certain models?  I'm confused (nothing new, I know)

You can run a Ducati or Bimota in the LW Supersport class as long as it meets the Supersport rules.  The statement regarding Supermono and Woods Rotax only apply to those specific bikes.  For example, a Ducati 1000SS can run in the LW Supersport class as long as it meets the Supersport rules.  Hope this helps.

Then why under the other classes (SB, GP and GTL) doesn't it state the same thing?

Becka,

With the exception of the HP2, the other bikes fall into the "supermono" category.  The rule excepts the Ducati Supermono (of which 67 were made), the Bimota Supermono (more made, but still uncommon), and custom Woods-framed Rotax motors.  I think the exception exists because single cylinder bike are allowed unlimited displacement and engine mods.  Only the HP2 and the Bimota were ever  "street legal" bikes, which is why SS is only effected. 

Of these, probably only a very well built ducati s'mono could reasonably compete with a well sorted 1000ds or XB12R in supersport,  but unfortunately the rule still exists.
