Curious to see what others think.
I just got (another) mailer from Mr Henry DeGouw promoting CCS Florida. My question is if CCS HQ's promoted like Mr. DeGouw does would we see an increase in participation in other regions? Another question is has a mailer from Mr DeGouw promoted anyone to attend a CCS Florida event? :preachon:

An email letting me know the schedule that I and every other racer has known since the 1st week in january will have no effect on me going to that weekend. Its not like Ohh no!!! I forgot there was a race. Lack of information about a schedule has approximatly f-all to do with racers decisions to race. IMHO.
The enthusiasm he has about his series intrigues me and does actually get me considering an early season trip. From way up here it sounds like they have their stuff together and it sounds like a pretty good time with some pretty good competition. I like the fact that they are actively promoting their series. It shows they care about what they are doing, that it means something to them to have people show up, and quite possibly if you do well it may get some exposure.
I've been in the CCS Florida series for a few years now. The flyer does prompt me to get my pre-entries in. It is also a who's who at times with one of the racer's pictures being featured on the flyer. Just a little recognition of fame, and it's nice to see your own picture on the cover-I haven't been on one. The flyer does also provide some advertising opportunities to some of the vendors within the series. The Penguin School flyer is also added in there on the February and December races and has promted me to sign up for the school, so to me yes it works.
I like how the series is run and has brought out some riders with fame under their belts. For me as an observer, it is good to see how the local boys stack up against the National guys. It is a fun show to watch riders such as Barnes, Eric and Jeff Wood, Pietri, Villa and in the past May come down to ride.

There are some fast dudes in FL region! The Feb Homestead race always has alot of competition as riders from further north come down to get some early racing in.
Henry Degow puts on a great show in the Florida Region.Has a award ceramony at the end of the day for all the top 5 finishers and you get to stand on the box.The race anouncer is awsome giving the play by play action during the races. Then he offers the unlimited GP (shoot out) at the end of the day thats a really good race, its a big deal in Florida.Top 3 go to the winners circle with champane for a little celebration. You practice on Sat and race on sunday. He offered cash for Ex GTO, GTU , and the Shoot Out till this year.He listens to his racers and trys to make everyone experience as enjoyable as possible.I really like racing the florida region and like Greg said theres lots of fast guys.Henry recognizes his racers for there efforts and gives you a chance to thank your sponsors while standing a the box...not your trophy is over there in a box.
IMHO Henry really puts on a good show!
the first time i raced SE having been racing fla i was surprised by the lack of the end of the day festivities. everyone just packed up and left and this pick up your thophy on the way out was a real disappointment.i like the fact that one man runs the whole show., not a commitee . if you have an issue you talk to the king, you may not like the answer but what he say's goes you never get "i don't know". i only wish we didn't go to palm beach so much

...and the entertainment at the awards banquet ain't half bad either.
Lets not leave out the rest of Florida Region staff. They all are great to!!!! If you never raced Florida Region you should try it.I raced other regions and it was fun to, just run a little different.
I stayed at a motel in Jupiter one weekend for Moroso races, walked to a restaurant and bought a newspaper, there was a CCS races this weekend advertisement in the newspaper. Went down the hallway to the head, there was a CCS flier on the wall.
That's good promoting and usually good spectator turnout at Moroso and Homestead.

+1 Really nice show put on here in Fl. Not that I have anything else to compare it to, but now that I realize that not all regions do this kind of thing, I feel like we have a really cool thing down here.
