I could live with something like that!

it also says they want other sponsers like body work and suspension and so on
so who is going to build a spec bike with $100 entry and knot know what the payout is going to be over 300 till the grid is posted

the tire company is the one who makes out on that deal because if you have to use the spec tire and the payout is only half the entrys wheres the tire companys money going?

I dont think Pirelli is going to use a "spec" tire, rather you must run Pirelli DOT's to enter- or at least to collect purse.

That is correct. There isn't a special spec tire, but rather Pirelli DOT's must be used. In a time when most contingency opportunities are being cut back from manufacturers and purse money is getting scarce, it is nice to see another opportunity to earn a couple of bucks and enjoy a longer race.

Now for that 600 I needed.....hmmmm

They're trying something new- for those that ever saw in Canada the SV cup stuff...sponsored by Diablo.....Pirelli that is.... was very popular...

Hope this catches on and gets the support and sponsors it needs.

Kudos to CCS for working to stay ahead of the game with opportunities for the racers!

ok so its not a "spec" tire its still a certian brand of tire which alot of people dont use.
if the tire company isnt benafitting from that ,why have the everyone use a "dot certian brand tire"
why not just pay contingency? and like some one else said if you can use a differant tire and not collect a purse its just like contingency then.
just my thoughts, i dont see any racer benifiting from it

of course it benefits the tire company, do you think any contingency is paid out otherwise?  Does michelin, dunlop, bridgestone benefit from offering contingency?  yup, if they didnt they wouldnt offer it!

at least someone is trying to think out of the box instead of whinning about the economy...

so riders who have contracts with other tire companies will not be racing in this class so the entries will be even worse, great idea

Had a discussion with one of my business associates today and he pointed out an interesting theory. None of the "Bounty Hunters" are going to want to have to completely change the set up on their bikes just to run this one race in a weekend. This should open up a lot of opportunities for the rest of the paddock. I realize a lot of the rest of us mortals are going to feel the same way so maybe they will switch to Pirelli to avoid the set up changing back and forth? I doubt it. But maybe.
If any of my Team Continental riders want to participate in this series, I encourage them to do so. I'm sure some of the other tire guys won't feel the same way as was stated a few posts ago.
I think it will prove to be interesting and I am anxious to see how it goes. Heck, I might even buy some Pirellis and give it a shot myself.

I am thinking you have to run pirelli to enter the race seeing you have to post tech to enter.Maybe they will pay tire contingency and purse, plus maybe the tires will be discounted ? Then you could win a little money.Maybe Dunlop,Michelin, Bridgestone, tire contingency will be less of a pay out per class then running this one race?If you dont have a tire contract it may be for you.I guess do what benifits you the most.

Im sure that the 99% of riders in the paddock are just weeping for the "riders who have contracts with other tire companies".

Bounty hunters couldnt give a rats ass about 300 bucks.

What doesnt make sense to me is putting less money in it than their normal contingency.

Maybe because the grid will be smaller and the payouts will be a purse, not a contignecy.  "Abird in the hand is better than two in your bush....."

so its another race added into an already crowded schedule that only a slect few riders can enter. Why doesnt Pirelli just offer an increased contingency in the MW SS expert or pay the top 5 Pirelli riders in that class, would do the same thing.

I agree and..

What ever happed to Unlimited GP? End of day big race for cash, run what you brung.. it got moved to the middle of the schedules and that seems to be the end of the cash purse races that everyone could enter.

Just some input.

Probably to CCS. I promise they didn't add this class for free. But I would be really pissed if I found out that Pirelli was trying to turn a profit. It's almost like they're in business for the money...

it looks like the same payout as the ASRA races
but now they want to add more sponsers whos products you have to use to race this race so that makes the field even smaller.
most of our bikes are built with the parts we like and have it that way for a reason.

dont get me wrong i have only raced pirelli till last year and tried the donflop ama spec junk
I might still run pirelli in 2010 too we will see what happens

We tried to move the race because turnouts were growing smaller and a vocal few said they weren't staying until the last race just to run for the purse. Coupled with the "idea" to run it sooner before all the "spectators" left, since it was the feature race, so we did and the further decline in turnout was proof positive that no good deed goes unpunished.  : :banghead:

The "guaranteed" purse comes from Pirelli. CCS only gets the percentage of entry fees not paid out to the riders. If and when new sponsors are signed, we'll update what has been added to the "guaranteed" purse. (This is more money for this one class than Pirelli averaged in contingency payout in 2009 for Expert Middleweight SuperSport, so obviously they are trying to help our sport as well as expose new riders to their product.)

As we said before, it is a "Grand Experiment", who knows, it might even catch on!

LOL...You really should have to sit out every other race in this series, or for the Midwest Region...they would have to rename the race.

Jason Farrell's Pirelli race for second place  :)

I hope the sarcasm wasnt overlooked. I really hope CCS and pirelli turn in record profits every year. Unlike most, i understand that profit for CCS or Pirelli means more contingency, purses, and better events.
