Title: Atlantic Region?

..........but all New Jersey Road Race Series events will count towards CCS Mid-Atlantic and Atlantic region points.

So whats going on? Did NJMP screw up in their press release, did the SE region get a brand new track, or did the SE region get renamed?

I believe it was a screw up with the press release. I also think the NJMP Roadrace Champeenship is akin to the Summit Point Champeenship.

I think that they let the cat out of the bag on that one actually. Look for a Atlantic region this year guys.

Not exactly sure. There was talk of an Atlantic series focused on NJMP, although when I was involved in this discussion it was early Sept- things may have changed.
My opinion is that the farther South you go, the less people show up.
In 2009:
CMP was pretty low turnout, despite being dual region.
Barber was a ghost town.
Summit Point was about normal, until the last round which was a ghost town.
NJMP was apparently really well attended.

I just hope that CCS is able to put together a schedule that will make them some money, and that we can all afford to race.

If they make the regions more regional instead of so spread out like in the past maybe more people will be inclined to chase regional championships

As far as Atlantic region, it will be clearer once you see the license renewal mailer going out next week and the regional schedule.

BTW, 2008 Summit final race had 707 entries, 2009 Summit in August had 657 entries,,off yes, but hardly a ghost town. End of season is always slower.

Thanks for your support of CCS Racing.

What was the attendance of NJMP's race, and how does it compare to other CCS races?

There's a posting up on the WERA board about that venue, and it seems they don't want to take a risk with the NorthEast. Don't see what their rationale is when you look at the CCS and AMA attendances. Unless I'm missing something.

They also keep claiming it's $50K to rent the place. Is that true?

I'm also assuming that CCS has (or will) work out the track issues they had in 09? Does CCS have any say over non-racing events that the track holds at the same time? Having a bike/marathon in the same paddock was a little hectic, not to mention a possible security issue with everyone's stuff in the pits.

I believe CCS Last summit race had a low turn out because of MOTO GP down in Indianapolis, it was on the same weekend.

I'd think Thunderbolt would do better than Lightning too.
