My old phone records in .AMR format, got a file downloaded from phone into computer but cannot play it or find a file conversion program that will handle an almost 1 meg file, seems most .amr are ringtones.
Any one know of a player or conversion program for this format?
Huh? I have to get my kids just to turn on the playstation.
"Adaptive Multi-Rate (AMR) is used in speech coding and involves audio data compression. Audio data compression allows for more storage on voice files. ".amr" is a popular filename extension for AMR. Many cell phones use AMR for speech recording storage. MP3 is a proprietary format, it is a common audio format for consumer audio storage. "

Hi Tea,
How's the wrist, my dear? Still thinking about making it to Barber at the end of the month?
On the same techno geek topic, do you or anybody know if there is an alternative to iTunes for transfering mp3's onto my new iTouch? I've used Anapod in the past for my old iPod and it was easy to transfer....just click and drag. However Anapod is not compatible with the iTouch.
Hi Joe,
the wrist feels good, but the fractured shoulder still hurts a lot.
I sold my spots to Ricardo, but I might catch a ride with Stefano to hang out with you guys.
It seems like the second generation iTouch has changed the file system, but from briefly searching, it looks like there is a cure to use it with winapm. read this thread
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/travel-technology/867098-itunes-alternative-compatible-w-ipod-touch.html
and here is direction how to use it with winamp
http://www.simplehelp.net/2007/07/07/how-to-use-winamp-to-manage-your-ipod/
in order for it to work with winamp, you need the plugin from the first link.
i hope that works for you :-)
Hope to see you at Barber!
Mr. Burton now has a big grill that he carries with him. I'll make sure we're not hungry!!
Found the problem was not the size of the file but my fear of corrupting the original I had been attempting to convert a copy, the copy caused the issue with some sort of piracy program. Freeware did work but added a voiceover ad. File went from 928kb to 22meg :ahhh:
Getting the whole phoneto the people that need it as they said they have professional conversion program
thanks
