Title: GP Tech Fairing Stay
Post by: DEVINC on October 05, 2009, 08:21:33 PM
Does anyone know if they make it for a 2006 r6? I don't think they do but just seeing if anyone else has seen it. I don't want to have to replace the whole thing anymore but it looks like that's what I have to do.

Graves stay any good? Tough?

Some of the Yamaha parts are really reasonably priced from the dealer.  Check that out too.

true. last time i replaced the fairing stay with another factory one. i got a discount on it and it was reasonably cheap. i just like the idea of those gp tech ones having the replaceable ears on them...

ya i have a couple of broken factory ones now. I have looked and for 06-07 r6, I can't find many aftermarket ones for mine. I think I know why. Today I was ordering a new factory stay and had a friend of mine look up the 05 r6 and the 08 r6 fairing stay which differ from the 06-07. The difference in cost was pretty big. The 06-07 stay, is about $80-$90 cheaper than the 05 stay or the 08 stay (retail). For what ever reason, Yamaha can seel the stay for my bike pretty cheap so I guess the aftermarkets decided it wouldn't be too much of a profit to make one for those years. That's my guess. Anyways I got a new one ordered for just about $80. Not too bad compared to other prices.
