Just wanted to give a bit of a heads up on Tenn2cycles.com and the very bad experience I have had with them... This company sells T2 tire warmers that are absolute garbage... I purchased 3 sets of them and have had nothing but problems since day one... I have never gone a single weekend without at least one tire warmer going down... As I said from day one I have been in contact with Tenn2cycles about these faulty warmers... At first I would send a few back and they said they would repair them and or replace them but again not a single weekend without killing one tire warmer. To date I am down to one working tire warmer and about 3 - 4 months ago I sent him all the warmers I had that didn't work. He said he would check them out and let me know what he could do for me... He could see that these things look like brand new as usually they would be used a few times and then die. He kept promising to take care of me as I basically had about 1k in tire warmers and nothing to show for it... He said he would be getting in a new batch of warmers that were revised with a better thermostat that would give me a lot more reliability. So I waited and waited and called and emailed. The return calls and return emails became fewer and fewer. I finally got in contact with this guy who calls him self stick boy who came to the conclusion that my warmers are now 2 years old and they are no longer under warranty. What!!! Are you kidding me!!! This dude for one has been jerking me around for almost 2 years and has had my warmers for months and I have never had a set of warmers that worked, so how could he even think about starting the damn warranty clock. He did say he would sell me a set of warmers at cost since mine are past warranty. Wow, now you want me to spend more money with you to buy another set of warmers that won't work... I told Stick boy if he didn't do something for me that I would let all I know of my bad experience with him and his company. He didn't seem to worried and really I can't do much about it but let all I know that this guy is a for real con artist... Check out his website as he talks about only selling quality pieces for a good fair price and that they will stand behind there products. From my experience this couldn't be further from the truth... I have lost about 1k worth of money, countless amounts of waisting time sending tire warmers back to him on my dime, and also countless phone calls and emails so this guy would at least try to some how make it right... I am telling all who want to hear stay away from this guy and or his company as he knows exactly what he is doing and he is great at his chosen craft of ripping people off!!!
Humm...
Not that this is my fight...
Does Tenn2cycles make T2 warmers? I could be wrong, but I doubt they do.
So, you receive 2 years of customer service on a product some one sold to you?
It would seem to me, there is another side to this story.
Based off of your post, I doubt I could deal with you for 2 years.
XIII
Does your local Kawasaki dealer make your new ZX6r I doubt they do. I do not want or ever asked for 2 years of customer service I just want a set of tire warmers that I paid for to last one weekend of racing. You are very correct that I am very hard to deal with after 2 years of the run around and 1k out of my pocket.
I'm guessing he didn't seem incredibly worried about it because his customer satisfaction rate is pretty damned high. This is literally the first post I've seen of someone having a horrible experience with his products and/or his customer service.
Now I'm not saying that it didn't happen the way you say it did, but I'm saying that I've never heard of anything even close to this before, and, well, there's 2 sides to every story.

Does Tenn2cycles make T2 warmers?
Actually, I believe they do.
Where's Mark?
I had a friend bring this to me attention. Thank you.
Well, it seems you have done just as I predicted you would. I said you would go out and tell your side of the story. I was right.
You got your warmers in April of 07. You had them swapped once. You now, June 09, are looking for replacements. Now, I do expect the product to perform properly, but at the same time you must take some responsibility for yourself. If they have been bad all that time and you haven't take time to contact any one before June, you are also at fault. No one can help you out if the problem is only known in your home.
Knowing I only have a one year warranty, I wouldn't sit on a problem for over a year. If they acted up from day one as you said, then you waited a long time to tell anyone. I have owned the company since January, and June was the first I heard from you.
Now, in good faith, I offered to sell you what you needed at cost. You of course would only be satisfied with a two year warranty. That is unreasonable to me. Since nothing was going to make you happy I gave up. Then you threatened to bad mouth me everywhere you can. At that point I told you to think real hard before you make those threats. You said it again, and so I rescinded the good faith offer of a discount. You are now encouraged to take your business to another vendor. I want customers, but not at the cost of free warmers for life. That doesn't make for a good business plan.
I would like to know where your son races. I am looking for people to support for next year, and I think the people he races against just may profit from this.
Also, the next time you want to make a impact and be "the man" try signing your name and claiming your post. Not signing is just another way to not take responsibility for your actions, again.
Please feel free to reply.
Derek "Stickboy" Bennett (don't forget this part when you reply)
Well not much of a prediction on your part as I told you exactly what I was going to do... I told you from the start of this that I did not want and never wanted to bad mouth you or your company but you left me with no choice. You sold an inferior product that I have sent back to you on 2 occasions and my friend sent a few of mine back with his when his went bad. So on 3 occasions I have sent back warmers to you that have been used a hand full of times. Not allot of racing around here so the use was very very sparse and like I said not one single weekend without losing alteast one warmer.
I never sat on this problem and was in contact with you the whole time. You have had my warmers since May this go around and still I have nothing and it took you until now to finally say you where not going to do anything for me.. And of course you never called me and it was my prodding that finally made this come to a head... This was in much contrast to what you have been saying the whole time which was you would take care of me. Now you want talk about me threatening you... This was absolutely no threat this was just letting you know that I was going to let people know what kind of product you are selling and also how I was treated in the end. I told you, until our last phone conversation that I did not say one bad thing about you or your products and wouldn't have if you would have some how tried to make it right..
Now you want me to sign my name to the bottom of this so you can some how bring my son into this... You have made a few mistakes along they way during this whole process and I am afraid so have I as I should have been more of a jerk from the get go so it wouldn't have come this far. I think you may have mistaken my patients and easy going nature for some kind of weakness and you could not be further from the truth... Now I am taking this a bit more personally and I am quite certain you would not talk so stupid about my son, or "me being the man" if we were face to face.
Maybe you should take your own advice and take responsibilities for your actions and come clean and do the right thing and take responsibility for selling me junk. You should also take responsibility by doing what you say you are going to do and take care of me and not just look the other way...
verdict - I judge for the indivdual with 170 posts.
First time whiny posters carry no credibility compared to long time posters and trusted racing gear and tire suppliers.
Sorry.
How about a constuctive discussion.
I like pie.
George
Cheesecake for me...
Chocolate turtle cheesecake is good.
The date on the box is June 3, 09. The date codes on the warmers are all 04/2007. That means the last time you had one swapped was over two years ago.
I don't think your weak, I think your unreasonable. Also, you presented your bad mouthing as a threat of what you would do if you didn't get your way. Much as a small child warns of a oncoming temper tantrum.
I don't have a problem with your kid. He may still grow up to be a reasonable person.
I'll give you one more chance to own up to your name. If your not ashamed of what you have done here, and you feel it's right to demand to have your product swapped out under it's one year warranty two years after you got it, then claiming your post should not be a big deal. If it is, you should admit your wrong and go away.
Let me know A.E.
Derek
Good thing this isn't on the WERA board. :kissy:
I've never dealt with Derek, but I've seen nothing but compliments from those that have.
No idea who Raging Bull is...... hard to side with someone who won't state his name.
No idea if he's a reasonable person.
In the battle of public opinion: Stickboy 1 Ragingbull 0
What an a$$hat... :jerkoff:
Derek is a good man. :thumb:
I got a set from him back in '07 and have had no problems from them.
A couple of months ago a kid was running around in our pit and stepped on and kicked my front warmer. Needles to say, it went out. I gave Derek a call and had a replacement, new design, at my door in a few days. Since the kid did the damage, I payed for a new one. No big deal. I'll just have to stomp on the kids a bit...
Hey Derek, what happened with the generators? Lack of sales?
I would have bought one, but the shipping... Ouch.
I have no problem letting anyone who wants to know who I am just hit me with an IM and I will give you my name, number and home address, without a problem. The only thing that concerns me now is my son and the thought of this guy even bringing this into the mix to me shows his true colors...
I don't know how most of you are thinking, that I just made this up, and now this guy is claiming the last dealing I have with him was on 4/07 come on. This guy is a straight up liar, period... I think most of you would be thinking a bit different if this guy would have taken $1000.00 from you... Being unreasonable, why has this guy taken until now to say stick it if he has had them in his words since June. 3 months for him to figure out that my warmers are 2 years old and you are now going to get screwed.. Remember he has said many many times not to worry he would take care of it, who is really being unreasonable? He makes it sound as if I was asking for 3 new sets of tire warmers.... Even though this is what I paid for I said I would be happy with one set if he could get me a straight year out of them. Is that being unreasonable???
So because I do not post on this board this gives me no credit. I have been around the racing scene a very very long time and I have to date can remember having only one other big problem with anyone and in the end we came to work things out...
I will take my humble public opinion @$$ whipping and keep bumping this post to the top just for all to see what I have to say. If you are a reader of these types of boards and not a poster I am quite sure you will think twice before buying from this guy... If you look at the numbers it is quite easy to see over 240 views and only 4 different posters so I think my point is getting out there and this was my intent..
Quote from: ragingbull on August 27, 2009, 07:35:51 PMNow I am taking this a bit more personally and I am quite certain you would not talk so stupid about my son, or "me being the man" if we were face to face.
Listen Andrew, I don't have a problem with your kid. Stop making it sound like I am attacking him. I am talking to you. BTW, this is a threat of violence. It seems that you have some issues with how this is going, but it's what you wanted. I just want all the facts out there.
I said, I will look at them and get you taken care of. In a case of a year passed the warranty period, getting a discount is taking care of you. You just don't understand how they work.
I'm not a fighter, I'm a racer. Please don't threaten me with fighting anymore. It silly. We are grown men, not school kids. If you don't want to talk it out, then race me for it. Racers race to settle things. So I'll give you a list of tracks I'll be at and you can show if you want and we will race to settle it. Not your kid, a friend, some guy you met once in a dark alley behind a dumpster.
You lost your chance of a reasonable conclusion already because you didn't want to be reasonable yourself. You get one more chance to own up to your post, and then I'll let everyone know who you are. At that time, you may be a hero, or just a disgruntled, unreasonable soccer dad screaming at people on the sidelines.
Christ almighty. Throw the frickin' warmers away, never deal with stickboy again, get some new warmers and be done with it. Some times it's just better to cut your losses and move on. I don't blame you for being disgruntled if your warmers where shit from the get go, but I also don't blame stickboy for not covering an item 1 year out of warranty. Live, learn and move on.
You are a racer with a big mouth and that should be held accountable for his actions and or his big mouth. You are the typical person in todays society who doesn't want to be held accountable for he less the honorable actions and this is why I called you out. Now you are the one threatening, threatening to post up my name YIKES!!!!.. Just leave my son out of it and we can handle it with each other... You shouldn't have even brought up the fact that I have a son. Damn how would you even know this??? Maybe it was because I spoke with you on this fact on one of the many phone calls I made to you... Of course these phone calls never happened according to you... If you would just have stayed to your word and now quit lying about when I came to you and how many times I came to you about this problem we would not be at this point. The only reason I didn't want my name posted in the first place is to not hurt my son as a person and or a racer. No worries though as other then this board others have been much more supportive of my telling it like it is. I am quite sure you will be hearing more about it as I am on many boards. Like this one I don't often post but like I said I have been around the seen I am quite sure longer then you have been and have brought my son up through the mini scene so we are on a few boards and do know a few people. As I have said in the other post I am not threatening you in anyway shape or form, should I say again I am not threatening you and have not. Just letting all know what kind of person you really are... You should post up which tracks you will be at in the near future as if we are in the area I would be more then happy to introduce myself to you... Now don't get all up in arms and go and wet yourself this is not a threat just would like to see what kind of lies and smart talk would come out of you if we were face to face. I am quite sure it wouldn't be the bull that you are throwing around on this forum... If you want to continue I will be more then happy to keep bumping this post to the top for all to see. And don't you worry about me ever being an unreasonable soccer dad as I was a wrestler, coach wrestling, and my son is a wrestler. Maybe an overbearing loud father of a wrestler but I will leave all of the less manly things with you... Sorry for putting the rest of you through all of this nonsense but to tell you the truth I do feel much better about it all now. I just don't want to become like the rest and just take things lying down so people like Stick boy think it is just ok because it"s not...

I guess in my experience with life and racing, I've found that there comes a point when you simply need to LET THINGS GO...
You simply have to ask yourself what you expect to gain out of the fight and if it's truly worth that at the end of the day. Trust me, I know... Most recently, I was trapped in an elevator at Mandalay bay with 18 other people for 45 minutes while they did absolutely nothing to resolve the situtation (we eventually called 911 to get the LVFD to open the doors). I didn't get anything in compensation from that deal, but had to simply let it go because it made no logical sense to keep fighting it.
So now, you've had your moment to say what you needed to say, now LET IT GO... Continuing further only makes you look like, well, a Raging Bull...
My good Mr. Bull Sir,
Let me get this straight - you don't want to post your name because you are scared that it will reflect badly on your son...
In the interest of everyone involved, I am going to try and give you some potentially valuable advice that I think should help you in your dillema.
If there are actions that you think are potentially wrong (such as trashing trusted suppliers accross multiple websites where you have no standings) or you think about doing things that could reflect negetively on yourself - just don't do them. If YOU don't do things that woudl result in YOU having a bad reputation in the industry then you don't have to worry about the impact of such negative actions or how your reputation could impact the reputation of your son.
For what it is worth - just because you have behaved like an @$$hat here the rest of the racing comumity probably won't hold it against your son ( unless he begins to consistently displays simmilar behavior).
This is a fairly closely knit community - the ananymous posting doesn't go over well. I have been involved in this sport for 8 years and generally have seen pretty high standars of service set by the longstanding and well known vendors. If you don't like the service from one vendor - just find another. If his service is that bad then the vendor will have a very short life in the sport.
George
RB... put as much effort into one of these http://www.ccsforum.com/index.php/topic,22663.0.html as you have into bashing a well known/respected vendor... and you'll get your free set of warmers
Andy, I'm sorry you have reading troubles. I have not denied I spoke to you. I have talked to you, after June. Not for the last two years you say. If you are still proud of yourself and feel strong. Post the other places you have put this. If you feel that you will get put in your place again, please keep them to yourself and continue to hid in your little holes around the internet.
Andrew E. I'm still leaving it up to you to claim your posts, but you are getting short on time.
I don't claim to be right in this case. I think we are both wrong, that's why I offered to sell to you at cost. You aren't much for meeting half way, so we have to both hang out on extreme ends.
BTW, anything I say here or on the phone I would say to anybody. I'm not some internet tough guy. And in person, you can expect many more jokes than on here. Ask anyone who has hung out at my trailer. I will make people laugh, and it just may be at your expense if you are there.
I hear what most of you are saying and for sure I think my point has been made. And by the looks of how many views to how many posts it may be getting around just like I hoped it would. Already getting a few phone calls on this so whatever happens from here on great as the word is out...
So coach, are you afraid to tell me where your secret lair of other posts are for fear you will look bad again?
QuoteI'm not some internet tough guy. And in person, you can expect many more jokes than on here. Ask anyone who has hung out at my trailer. I will make people laugh, and it just may be at your expense if you are there.
Internet tuff guy???? Has anyone here seen you Derek?? There is a reason they call him "Stick" LOL. Seriously though, I have known Stick for several years and have absolutely nothing negative to say about him. He will go out of his way to help anyone out. I have NEVER heard a negative remark about Stick's business dealings. I consider Derek a good friend and take personal cause to anyone who wrongly gadmouths him....just wish he sold Dunlops instead of the crappy "Stones LOL Tdub
PS...This post probably isn't worth much as my post count is pretty low as well.
..
is there a high failure rate for these warmers? or is there another reason. i had a generator once that made more than 60 cycles and it wiped out my TV and computer during a .naturaly it took some time to realize the real reason for the failure. of course a tire warmer is only resistor so cycles would not affect it but maybe high voltage would.
The manuf. Says bad power can cause the boxes to go bad. There was a batch that had a high failure rate, and I've swapped them all out no questions. I am working with the manuf. on a new design now. Different and hopefully easily replaceable boxes.
Thanks Tdub. I hope you find your way back to our paddocks again soon.
Next season Stick. My 125 rider is moving up to the 600s next year and our plan is back your way!!! I am sure we will see ya soon as we will be hitting the SE trackdays this fall. Looking forward to it!!! Tdub
Kewl. Keep an eye on the CMP website. I do trackdays out there every month.
Stick-
I don't know you from Adam, but I do know Noidly, and he loves your warmers. I have to admit, I was a touch jealous of his set when we were up at R.A. earlier this year.
I worked retail for years at a ski shop, and it is amazing just how many people cannot own up to the fact that any retail item (ANY) can, and inevitabley WILL fail at some point. If this failure occurs within the manufacturer's alotted warranty period- then it is generally taken care of by either replacement or repair. After that warranty period is over, well- them's the breaks. I think everyone in the world has had some product fail after the warranty period expired.
Unfortunately, there is always one guy/gal out there wanting to fight things- feeling the manufacturer should warranty items WELL BEYOND the warrany period. :jerkoff:
Case in point- I had a customer buy a fleece jacket. TWO YEARS later, he came back and wanted a replacement/refund because he burned a hole in it with a cigarette! This guy pitched a fit, almost screaming, because of a hole HE put in it! LOL Had another person buy an expensive (Mountain Hardware) mountaineering jacket, which had a rip-stop fabric (limits the length of a tear) well, he tore it with an ice-ax, and wanted a replacement/refund all while arguing rip-stop really meant "shouldn't rip, no matter what" LMAO.
Now, as a Police Officer, I see that the problem isn't just in retail circles. Humanity has a problem owning their own shit. Trust me on this one!
Don't stress, man. Although I don't have your warmers, I can appreciate, as a racer, you making them, and also making them well (never heard anything but good stuff about your products)
BTW- if Ragingbull doesn't want to take you up on a more than equitable resolution- I'd LOVE to take his cost discount, and would GLADLY buy a set of warmers, using the discount that he so eagerly... well, discounted!! In fact- I'll go on an internet campaign to bump your good name everywhere this guy posted!
Hmmm, I wonder if I should take in my 1996 Jeep with 160,000 miles into the dealership and demand they give me a replacement. Afterall- it should NEVER break, right? :whine: :wtf:
Cheers,
-Ski
Thanks. I was hoping that it would work out better. I guess it's just not meant to be.
I'll think about forwarding his discount over.
Ski,
i'll do you one better - i'll give you DOUBLE what you paid for that Jeep!
How can you turn down an offer like that??? :thumb:
Hehehe...no way! That is the best $165 I've ever spent in my life! You know you love it.
BTW- was good seeing you at the Gateway Rocker's bike night the other night. We have them there every Wed. night, and there are a bunch of kool-aid drinkers, er...BMW owners in the club! You'll fit right in!
Cheers,
Ski

Stickboy as someone who has run a internet business for the last ten years; you will always run into some asshole who will threaten you with blasting your name on all forums to ruin your business. It always seems to be someone who has a low or no post count and does not use their name. Fortunately most forum members recognize this for what it is. Based on your responses here and the support you have gotten from the other members my next set of warmers will be from you...Bob Brown #865 EmpireGP.com
well said
Wouldn't it be ironic if this whole fiasco actually resulted in more sales for Derek!
Actually it will.
Based on how I feel he has handled his replies and his customer service from his writings I'll definately be buying my next set of warmers from him.
I also feel that with such negative publicity as this raging bull guy produced it's still publicity. Publicity and an experience Derek can only learn and grow from.
Well heck, I couldn't resist this anymore. As a dealer myself, I've come to a great conclusion in the mind set of the customer ways of thinking. "A problem on their part doesn't constitute a problem on my part." In other words, if the warmers were crap from the start, then it should've been handled. However, if the customer decides to wait for Spring, and his warranty is over, Well, Sorry about your luck. It has nothing to do with a warranty, it has all to do with someone thinking he has a warranty just because it is cold outside and he's not using them. Lastly, for everyones info....there are a lot of tracks with huge electrical issues with their power outlets. They are usually low in power causing them to burn up the switches etc. causing them not to work shortly after installing them. Talledaga, Road America and Blackhawk farms are notorious for this. In my experience with Chicken Hawk warmers, NOT T2, being a dealer, and out of warranty, I would send them in to be repaired for a nomianal fee! Does it suck, yes, but it's out of warranty!
As for that StickBoy guy....I know him, he's always been fair, never heard any complaints, unless he's behind me on the track!! Hehehehhe...LOL!
My signature- Big RoNny!!
Good news for you then F2RGK. Blackhawk has all new electrical since the remodeling. :D
I've been running the T2 warmers. I picked them up in 07. At that time it seems there were a number of people selling the same warmers with their own logo on them. Sumoto, Fuelmoto, and some MotoGP labeled warmers all appeared to have the same construction and digital controller. I don't remember a warranty being offered for the other ones.
I did have issues with the front warmer in 08. The element had shorted out.
I was still within the warranty period so sent it in with a copy of my receipt and I received a replacement within a couple of weeks. Its been working fine since.
Honest opinion - are these the greatest warmers I've ever seen? No. But for the money I paid for them, they were in my budget and they get the job done. I make sure they get hung when taken off. When taking them off, I don't yank them and wait for the tail to come spinning around.
I'm content with my customer service experience. I've recommended the T2 warmers to other riders with limited budgets. Now if I had 3 pair and had consistent issues... yeah, I would have been disappointed too. I wouldn't have expected my warranty to reset itself each time I got new ones though. It sounds like Stickboy hasn't been ignoring the issue since June. Just that issues have been in limbo since then.
Thanks everybody. Like I said, I'm not happy with how it all played out so I felt a little give and take was in order. It just wasn't in the cards.
BTW, I am getting them reworked right now to prevent these kind of things from happeneing. I am investing in a different thermostate that is supposed to be more robust. It's slowed the new order down, but it will be worth it.
