hey all,
thought that we could get a list of things to be addressed for next season's njmp race for CCS to send to the track admin. here are my suggestions
1. address the power situation
2. showers on lighting course
3. 2-ply toliet paper
4. keep gate open later
5. bring your crashed bike back to you pit area
thats all i can think of now but perhaps others have some good ideas :D
- Bleachers for spectators
- Softer pavement on the outside of Turn 5!!!
* joke *
Better sound system....... for those who pit 3 miles away from tech.......
Better sound system for those who pit more than 3 FEET away from tech!
No Nazis at the gate to the track forbidding you to walk it after the racing has been over for an hour and a half.....
Move to Thunderbolt
How about moving the bridge? Look, fact is much probably can't be done about it at this point but I really think we need 2 section high airfence there. Luckly no one needed it this past weekend.
Don't schedule other events for a track being used by CCS the same weekend. It was a total CF Saturday evening by tech/registration!
Obviously, it'd be too costly for them to consider moving the bridge but what about looking at making a change at turns 5 & 6 to eliminate or atleast minimize the risk of hitting that bridge should a tire fail coming around 6?
+1 on the showers.
more showers that you can actually stand in and put stuff down in i was like falling every 3 seconds when taking my shower it was ridoculous
Ohh, how about now showing flags on the go-kart track on the inside of T5 which is right between riders and the T5 corner worker's station.
also it mayhem after a race is over and your coming over the brdige in a car its like so hard not to hit any 1 also how every1 was pitted in the middle of the street
these are all good suggestions. i only have one - it's all a little fuzzy, but i'm pretty sure the runoff in turn 1 is sort of a cliff due to the elevation change. once you go off the track, it drops off pretty steeply, which would probably make you tumble farther than you would if it was more level.

T1 has good runoff if you go straight.....I know. lol
My only suggestion is NOT to race on Lightning and keep all of the racing on Thunderbolt.
Oh yeah...more showers!!
I really like Lightning.....
The drive there sucks. The drive back sucked even more.
I also really liked the track. Just didn't like the bridge.
i didnt mind the drive......i did mind the frikin 30+ dollars on Tolls one way :(

I didn't leave until 1930 and it wasn't bad at all. I was home well before 2330.
Need more porta-johns.
Our tolls were less than $30 :p Driving a RV and a 2 axle trailer :p.
Bridge doesn't bother me.
Drive there sucks once you hit RT40
ICE over there is usually 9.00 I was told.
We went to Walmart and bought 12 bags of ice for $1.25 a piece :)

40 was CLOSED when I was going through Friday evening.
Does CCS plan to try and book Tbolt next year, or are we going to aim for Lightning again? I actually prefer Lightning
ive done close to 10 track days on both tracks. most people i talk to like lightning better. the bridge does look like a bad spot but thunderbolt has just as bad a spot. the long right turn that tightens up on itself ruins the flow of the track. even worse if you go off the outside where it gets real tight it sends you back on track on the 180deg left. hoping they put in some gravel or something to slow the bikes down. its just asking to get someone t-boned
I like the long right hander. If somone goes off near that bridge it's going to be bad. It's a major passing area. It isn't always your fault too.,
How about a left hand corner on the track?
The right side of my tire complained all weekend and the left side felt left out of the party :)
Russ, the left sides of your tires actually came over and hung out with me in the pits. Good guys! Russ, Thunderbolt is the same; 3 left turns if you run the 2nd chicane.
My vote is for Lightning if we have to choose only one. Maybe we could go to both?
Better than coming to see you on the outside of turn 5...
How you doing anyway? I heard about the hand, you done for the season?
I'm not a big fan of Thunderbolt, but if CCS could run two events next year (one on each track), I'd pre-register today.
In regards to bridges, I think the Thunderbolt bridge is far more dangerous. And someone HAS hit that already, unlike the Lightning bridge.
I personally hate bumpy tracks, and both of NJMP's are baby smooth!
PA system around the whole paddock. More Porta-johns. Shower facilities in walking distance. Better spectator areas accessible form the paddock (although I heard just outside the bulb on the straight was good)
Kinda already addressed but move finish line back...
And a big one is: Keep the gates open later!!! The guards told me @10:05 I couldn't come in per CCS rules. Guards are there all night but CCS wanted everone to register there. A little extra camping and now you're shelling out $75 for a hotel. Move registration to the classroom to accomadate.
Build some friggin' shade!

I'm REALLY disappointed that my season is over!!! I finally felt good on the bike (my undersized testicles had been a problem this year) and thought I was running pretty well Saturday morning. A little too well I guess! Oh well, I'm already planning out stuff for next year, and I will be at Summit to hang out and snag some bodywork from your dad (GREAT guy by the way! He thinks the world of you dude!) so I'll see everybody there with my awesome blue cast!
