Only today's work shift to survive. Tonight, I sleep at Blackhawk! I feel like a little kid waiting for Santa to come. I had to have a few drinks last night before I could drop off...
Hell yeah! let's go racing!!!
K3
LOL!!!!
Last night I woke up at 2:30 a.m., wide awake, making mental lists of the things I have to finish before leaving tomorrow. I have a feeling to day will be a long day :(.
Dawn :)
Things to do:
Find box of earplugs.
Buy fuel
Load the van (no trailer this time)
Go to the track!
K3... see you tonight!
It started this weekend for me :o
Hopefully I can actaully get a good nights sleep on Thursday night. Once it actaully starts I'm fine....but now I'm running on caffeine and nervous energy!
darn.. atleast you guys and gals get to go to the track. I don't have a bike yet so I'll be stuck watching the superbike and supersport races at Fontana and 250GP and MotoGP at Suzuka. :-/
Yes, I'm a newby...this will be my first time out. I'm taking the Visionsport class and then hopefully will be able to do some CCS races. Man, I thought I was the only one that is anxious about going. I have the truck all packed up and I think I have everything, but that doesnt change the fact that I'm really really anxious. I got about 2 hours of sleep last night...man, I CANT WAIT!!!! Leaving tonight right after work!
I'm with Kwak. And by the way...you guys go to the track this early? I don't ever get to the track on a race weekend before either Friday night late or early Saturday morning. Good luck this weekend everybody!!!
Hey Pierre!
Come introduce yourself to me at Visionsports tomorrow. I'll be the big guy with black Vanson leathers on black #333 expert. I'll introduce you around!
K3
Mightyduck: We're going early to take a Visionsports school on Thursday, a track day on Friday, and then race. MIDWEST WINTERS CAUSE RUST, SO WE NEED POLISH BEFORE THE FIRST GREEN FLAG OF THE YEAR!!!!

Thanks Chris, I really appreciate it! I'll take you up on that. I'll be the guy on the 96 CBR (Black/Yellow) with blue/white leathers. the bike has #171 on it, but I think I'll remove it since its the # that came with the bike. See you tomorrow!!!

Be sure to make a checklist and go ovet it before you leave tonight!
Hey Chris...isn't this gonna be your first weekend as an expert? Good luck and kick butt!!!

Ive been going over everything in my mind for the last 2 weeks., I'm pretty sure I have everything (considering that I packed just about every tool I own ;D). Hopefully I have everything I need. Thanks!
A quick list of things people usually forget include, but are not limited to ;D, air tank, fuel cans, helmet, gloves, leathers (yes leathers), ignition key (big one), tire gauge, zip ties, duct tape, and tools needed to remove wheels. You'll find if you write it all down, you'll take some mental stress off of yourself. Good luck and have a blast!!!
That's how I was 2 years ago.
Last year, I was done with the bike about a month ahead of time and packed up a couple of days ahead of time.
This year, well... As posted, I just found out the bike runs last night :-)
Next year I'm sure I'll be doing major work at the track

LOL!!!
I come home last night and the gas tank is back on the bike and I ask Paul. Well, does it run? He say's "It needs oil in it first." ::) Maybe tonight he will fire it up.
Dawn :)
This is Stumpy's wife filling in for Stumpy as he is otherwise occupied packing up and going nuts! (He's a wreck.)
Pierre...My husband, Stumpy (Greg), and his pal Johnson are taking the Thursday class, too. This is Greg's first year racing, too. Greg has an F4i and Johnson an F3 so I'm sure you'll get to know them.
Good luck to everyone! I'm going down Thursday night as work will not permit me to leave this early. I can't wait for the season to begin!!!! It must be summer right???
LOL - Yep... Midwestern summer officially begins tomorrow! :D :D
Can't wait to see everyone! 14 hours to go...
Dawn, didn't you guys do a rebuild on the SV? How was it looking? What were the "worst" areas? Anything NEED, or close to needing replacement?
QuoteDawn, didn't you guys do a rebuild on the SV? How was it looking? What were the "worst" areas? Anything NEED, or close to needing replacement?
Nate:
The valves and seats looked good so nothing was rebuilt. If you want, come and talk to Paul between or after practices on Friday. We should be at BHF late Thursday night.

Did you miss it? She said she is only bringing the van this time. Last I checked, you can unlock them from the inside. ;D
Dawn :)
Rob, for a nominal fee, when I get there on Friday I'll weld the doors shut till sunday night. ;D :D
I'll see you all in May. I can't wait. (Of course I'll be 1 race behind everyone. :'( )
QuoteI'll see you all in May. I can't wait. (Of course I'll be 1 race behind everyone. :'( )
Yeah - but you're soo fast that missing the April date won't matter.
Dawn ;)
Don't feel bad KC...I'm (after this weekend) now officially behind three races. Homestead- good...Daytona - no money...Moroso - break in practice (bad)...Jennings - don't feel like pushing around half of a bike, although it is REALLY light with no motor in it. :( :P ;D
QuoteYeah - but you're soo fast that missing the April date won't matter.
Dawn ;)
Ho ho ho ho, he he he, ho ho......oh my sides are hurting!
QuoteI'll see you all in May. I can't wait. (Of course I'll be 1 race behind everyone. :'( )
Has something changed that I am unaware of? The last time I checked the MW - GP & GL regions all have 2 events in April; BHF & Road America. How is it possible to not remember an upcoming Road America event? ;D
Worse than Christmas - That me be an understatement weatherwise. Right now the weather guru's are saying low of 33* and a high of 40* with rain on Sunday. I think I am going to be bringing my heater along to keep my trailer nice and toasty and to help dry out my leathers between races. Sure am glad I live in Rockford when the weather is questionable for BHF events, that way I can always run back to my house and get my snowmobile suit if needed! ;D
In fact anyone planning on running the Heavyweight or Unlimited classes shouldn't go to BHF this weekend, those classes are all cancelled ;). LOL
I just pray we make it to BHF. Currently we have freezing rain and drizzel. ::) Hopefully this afternoon it will at least get above freezing so that the roads will melt off.
Oh yeah... That 20 mph wind is fun too. :P
Dawn :(
Well...I can't race this weekend like you guys, but at least its 78 degrees here and sunny right now. ;D
QuoteWell...I can't race this weekend like you guys, but at least its 78 degrees here and sunny right now. ;D
Yeah - Gee thanks. We may not be racing either. I will not put our family at risk driving down there if the roads are nasty. It's just not worth it.
NOAA informed this area to have other heat sources available due to "significant icing" which could cause powerlines to break. This should last through Friday. Oh well, sometimes things are just not meant to be. :(
Dawn :-/
Ah....spring in the midwest. Dawn, I forget you guys are alot farther north. I hope you make it out to BHF, but I understand the saftey issue. Driving in ice is not an option. Latest weather report shows Sunday being slightly better than Saturday. We'll make our decision Friday night as we are only spectating this weekend anyhow. Hope to see everyone this weekend!
"Icing"
Isn't that a hockey rule? That's the only icing we see down here...lol. I hope you guys get to go race, that would suck if you waited all this time and then got screwed by the weather. Just think positively and hopefully the bad weather will move on. What do weather men know anyways? They said cold here yesterday and it was a low of like 69....idiots.
Well the weather is going further down the toilet. Now BHF is expected to have temps of 32* for a low and 36* for a high by Sunday with rain/snow mixed!
Is my 750cc Snowmobile legal in the Heavyweight and Unlimited classes? LOL
Worse than Christmas is right! The weather was definately milder on Christmas day. >:(
If you want to really experience and enjoy the Midwest spring. Come and joing the corner workers. Lunch is provided, exercise offered by your favorite racers, and you get to be part of a wonderful group of professionals. 8)

Yeah thanks to all the corner workers! I appreciate all those devoted individuals in the corners that have to stand out there in the weather all day. Definitely a commited group! (or is that a group that should be commited to some psychological tests :o ;) ;D). Just kidding, you people are great!
