Title: Almost ready...
Post by: OmniGLH on April 01, 2003, 05:10:25 PM
All she needs now is some stickers, a number or three, and race tires.  BHF, here I come... ;D

It's what I call, "a Suzuki with an identity crisis"

...and YES 'baller, that is a STOCK exhaust...

Looking good. But by the way, You'll never be done. Never, ever. It's like saying I'm done learning. Every time you think, that's it, it's only till you think another minuite. just 1 more thing. Then I'm done. Obsession sucks, but you're ready to begin and it looks clean.
Isn't it a sin to paint a Suzuki, Kawasaki green? ;D

LOL... looks good for a Suzawasaki or is it a Kawazuki? ;-)

I must claim my piece of the success pie here as well.  Last night, 1 day ahead of schedule I filled the crankcase with oil and radiator with Evans.  Waited, watched, no drips.  Cool.  That means it's together somewhat correct, right?

Pushed it out of the garage, put a tank on it with some fresh gas, put in a fresh battery and cranked it over.  5 cranks off of 1 push and it fired right up. WOOHOO!  I have a *running* bike.

Got the rotors, gearing and front wheel back on.  Still need to:
put on bodywork
put on numbers & a few contingency stickers
mount up a front DOT on the other rims
set rear sag
service generator
load trailer

Seems like a small list, but dang, it's taking forever and time is running out...

I must say though that if anyone is contemplating ripping a motor down to nuts & bolts, but you're afraid to, GO FOR IT!  Follow these simple rules...

1.  Service manual...  a *must* (a prerequisite would be knowing how to read)
2.  Tools.  If you don't have the right ones, either buy them or pay to have someone else do your work.
3.  Ask questions!  (just make sure you're asking KNOWLEDGABLE people)

My motor is in a million pieces right now about 1/2 the country away from me...lol.  Does that count?   :-/

By the way...MAN is that bike green!  Trying to collect Suzuki and Kawi contingency at the same time?

 ;D

Nicely done.   ;)

I fired my bike up last night.  What a relief!  Still waiting on my forks to arrive from Dan Kyle (should be here tomorrow).  First track days of the year at MAM are this weekend!   :o

Jim, as much as I appreciate you and DanO coming to help me and I definitely don't want to ruin that for the futre. That is UGLY man! LOL

Just giving you a hard time man, pretty funny seeing the  Kawi green on a zuk.

Next time though don't spend all that money on a paint job, just bring it over to my place and I've got some left over Krylon that will do just fine. :D
