I was wondering you need a motorcycle license to ride a 50 cc or if a valid drivers license works ?
Is it different by state? In MO, anything under 50cc, single-speed, not capable of speeds over 35mph, and producing less than 3 gross brake hp does not require a motorcycle liscense only a drivers liscense.
It differs from state to state. Check with the DMV to see what's required in your area.
WI list them as motorcycles and requires a M class. Since a ysr50 is capable of 60+, more than likely a license is required.
yeah i have a full drivers license but i dont have any motorcycle thing and i cant find it on the dmv website they give terrible info on the dmv

Off a cliff...
Dave if I can get one to 60 without the big bore kit.....
We had a whole "squadron" of them here years ago. Bunch of the group bought them to ride Milton Ave friday and sat nights.
you only need one if you get caught and you can tell the cops it's a moped. that's what i used to say with my old italjet

That doesnt work if you get one that knows what they are.
I can't think of any state where a YSR50 isn't counted as a full motorcycle thanks to it's manual clutch and 5 speed gearbox. So, to answer your question, yes, you'll need a motorcycle endorsement on your license to ride it legally.
