Title: BHF - THANKS
Post by: George_Linhart on June 04, 2009, 12:13:05 PM
It was great seeing everybody again last weekend at BHF.  I wanted to post a quick thank you to the many people who made my return to BHF after swearing never to return to BHF 2 year ago a fun experience.  The racing was great, unfortuantely I had to leave early on Sunurday after a freak gust of wind blew somebody's canopy accross the road right into my wife's head.  At the hospital they needed to use 8 staples to close the laceration.

1) Thanks to the Uttech's for being quick to help provide some medical care to stop Heidi's head from bleeding after the canopy incident.

2) BIg thanks to Ducti of Indianapolis for building one heck of a motor and preping the bike for me again this year.  Matt Carr has been a great supporter of the Ducati racing croud and with some refiniments over the winter the bike is even more of a rocket this year (yes, we found another 10 bhp).  Hopefully I can get my riding up to the same caliber as the motorcycle preparation.

3) Thanks to Paul Onley for some great close racing on Saturdayi in GT Lights.  A great pass into 6 on the last lap - it won't be so easy next time as I will get myself into better race conditioning.

5) And finally, thanks to Eddie Rusch for an awesome battle in the LW GP race.  The ONLY reason I was able to pull ahead of you for the podium is the mighty motor built by Mr. Carr.  You had a good lead coming out of 7 and I barely nicked you at the finish line - a photo is attached below that was taken just a few yards before we crossed the line.  You can't have a closer race finish!

I look forward to seeing you all again a few more times this year.

George

It was good seeing you, George.  I hadn't heard about Heidi's unfortunate encounter with the canopy.  I hope she's doing well.  Hope to see you again at BHF.  Are you going to Gateway or HPT?
Title: Back to the Blackhawk and what's up at Topeka
Post by: chris_chops on June 17, 2009, 04:58:15 PM
Hey, this a little belated but I have been known to get tied up a little. :lmao:   I haven't been to Blackhawk since 2003 before I moved to Michigan AND there was that little crash there where KG tried to kill me but...............Blackhawk was a blast May 30-31 aside from the canopy incident.

The turnout was incredible, I guess the economy is not killing CCS Midwest.  I'm stoked about making a CCS midwest comeback with our WERA guys and supporting George at the track.  I've never seen so many Buells in my life and I know they want a go at as many Ducatis as possible.  I am planning a George Linhart Replica DS1000SS as we speak.

Will there be Buells to play with at Topeka?  Is the turnout large there?

Hopefully Topeka will be a good turnout.

ASRA with Team Challenge and sprints, CCS Midwest and Great Plains regions, USGPRU and maybe even some AMA guys enroute from Laguna to Mid-Ohio who want to get some laps in before the AMA round there in August.

Buell turnout keeps getting stronger each year.  They have a great payout for contingency even for Am's.

As long as we can keep Dorothy and Toto from visiting we'll have fun!   :thumb:
