Well, this external video is just from a Nikon Coolpix camera which was mounted on a tripod for stability.  The onboard camera is a combination of Sony Ex-HAD camera from JonesCam.tv which is then plugged into an Aiptek A-HD camera which is the recording device.  The mic is a cheap lapel mic that has a large windsock on it.

I'm also getting the VHoldR, specifically the Contour HD.  I expect to have it in June.  I am concerned about the wind noise though.  The mic looks pretty exposed to me.

To get the resolution right for Youtube, I use Sony's Vegas Movie Studio Platinum.  It has an upload to Youtube feature that makes it real simple to get high quality video on youtube.  Also it has some advanced sound editing feature which allow me to use an EQ to limit the high wind noise whistles and the low wind noise rumble which is another reason the sound is good.  Really, the raw sound you'd hate.
