Title: ESU Mounting
Post by: Joeman on March 02, 2009, 03:21:37 PM
My first race is coming up at PBIR so Im still getting the hang of everything. I recieved my ESU mounts (I ordered both) and I know that it needs to be mounted on the tail of the bike perpendicular to the rear axle. Is there any specific direction it needs to face?

Not technically, but the wise method is to put the open end facing the rider.  So that the unit slides in and pushes BACK towards the back of the bike.  That way if you don't have it all the way in, it may stand a chance of staying with you for a race vice flying out...

Also think about putting a zip tie around it also. Mines was like that and even stayed on when the bike flipped over.

You can pick one up at the track for $5 and mount it then. Only takes a few minutes.
