Title: question about getting AMA license
Post by: LongDogRacing on February 03, 2009, 08:18:16 AM

the AMA daytona entry list has one or two folks on there that I know were CCS amatuers in 2008.

yet, on the AMA licensing rules, it indicates that you have to have a couple of years of expert competition and a certain amount of points.

is there a loophole that i'm not thinking of that these guys might have taken advantage of?

on another note, is Moto GT2 going to be run @ VIR?  i can't find a schedule for the MotoST series.

thanks in advance!

yes it will be @ VIR

here is a link for the Moto-GT season entry...haven't seen the official posted schedule yet...

also which class are they entered into? National Jr license has different requirements than National Pro or  AMA Pro

+1. The only amatuer names I saw were all entered in supersport.

Yup, thanks Ben and PJ.  You guys are right--  I was looking at riders in "SuperSport".  They were amatuers last year, but I'm sure they made it to expert for this year, so I guess they qualify no problem.

"To be eligible for a National Junior License, riders must have been awarded Expert status via participation with a recognized racing organization(s) (list at AMA Pro Offices)."
