Title: Lghtweight Riders
Post by: funsizeracing on January 14, 2009, 08:29:01 AM
So how many do we have in the region this year?  Is it enough to make Wu buy an SV?

I think I may be racing my father in-laws TZ250 a bit during the season.... Been a while since I raced a lightweight bike in a CCS race, Other then the Moto-St stuff....

I will continue to run select MW events, including the July races at HPT this year on the torque monster (the Ducati of Indianapolis built 1000SS).  I don't plan any major changes from last year - just fresh suspension fluids and some time going over the electrical system to make sure I don't have any more shorts in the sy stem that plagued me at Road America last year...

Please do! That little battery problem nearly got me twice! At least you got out with all your valves.

I'll probably only do BHF.

Paul,

Yeah - sorry about that...

You get the transmission fixed on the superbike motor?

I'm probably only going to race Thunderbike, Supertwins and HWSB with the new torque monster Buell :)
I may come and chase you guys around a bit in LWSB in a couple races

I almost forgot that I have a Lwt bike.

Hey X,
Fix it!  I'll give you a little tip too.  If you see Rosno kicking at his right rearset coming out of turn 7 like a dog scratching fleas that's your opening!  Whack the throttle and go for it!

Planning to run the HPT and Gateway events and at least 3 of BHF races.  That WU thing is just a urban legend.   Might try my luck at a heavyweight race or 2 to see what happens not sure.

With the consolidate area we have (just 4 tracks, HPT, GTWY, BHF, RR) I hope we see pretty nice sized grids.

Not sure if I will try to run the SV supersport in ULW or not, guess it depends on if anyone else is or not and what the race combination's are.

I plan on being at all or most of the Great Plains events on "Old Blue" if I can still remember how to get to the tracks.  Should be doing Thunderbike, Lightweight Formula 50ish, and possibly Supertwins and LW Superbike.

Ditto what Rob said, but I understand staying retired.  Being friends and knowing how close you came to being wheel chair bound has always made me question whether I should contiue.  Ever since, I decided where I finish didn't matter as much as having fun.  I'm not sure I would have ever come to that conclusion otherwise, because it is extremely easy to get caught up in the "win at any cost" or "winning is everything" notion.

I hope Sunny and the kids are doing great!

As to the topic at hand, I'm not sure when my season will get started(Ashlynn Isabell is due March 10th).  If my season does get started, I'll be on a motard in LW.

I'm planning on 3 CMRA here in Texas events before CCS Midwest starts.  Then probably RA, every other BHF and  MidO.  Will run ASRA TC with Team SSDI/Compost this year also as well as dipping my toes into the MW arena with an 05 R6.  Concentrating on ULSS, LWSS, MWSS, GTL and GTU.  Tough to run many events while I'm commuting to Houston -need family time!

Wow! Looks like an awesome grid shaping up for the LW classes this season.

Unfortunately I won't be in the mix. With a focus on running 1125Rs in the Moto-GT series, all my air-cooled Buell stuff is for sale.

Good luck everyone. Give Ed a run for his monkey...er, ah...money. Yeah, that's it.

I've been thinking of come out of retirement but I want to race a 250gp and CCS doesn't think its worth thier time for the half dozen of them that are at every race weekend (not to mention how many more would show up).

LWGP has been in the CCS schedule for forever.  That's what I raced on my 250GP bike.  GTU, MWGP, and ULGP.  What more do you want?

I'm jumping over to the MidWest region from Great Plains this year as BHF has always been the closest track to us here in Iowa.  My goal for '09 is not to be the very back, back marker as I know the LW classes in MidWest are tough.  My hope is having a chance to race in larger fields will help my racecraft, too!

Troy Walbaum, #143 and I will be traveling together and as soon as my neighbor, Mike Boomer #713 finishes his racebike project, he will be competing in his first season this year.   So add three more Buell guys to the amateur side of the LW fields in MW and combined GP events.

I may bring the LW bike out again depending on how the big bike and my devolpment are coming along. I will be building bikes and working for Hernan Martinez again, so he will be out there for the first few rounds at least.
