Title: Expert returning as Amatuer?
Post by: RMGSXR124 on November 24, 2008, 03:33:10 PM
I retired  from roadracing in August. I was wondering if I can come back as an amatuer next year and if I do, is stock suspension ok to start out on?

You should still be competitive in Formula 65.

If you just retired in August and are starting back next season....well that is a long time off you are for sure going to want stock suspension. That is a full one month longer than the rest of us will be off for the winter break which means you should stay am.

But it was the middle of August.

Well, if it was the middle of August, then that changes everything.
You might be better off by sticking to mock races with some track day org or something.
That way you've got he built-in excuse that "Its only a track-day" for whenever you need a pick-me-up

Problem solved.
You're welcome

Yeah, but you have to have your waiver for your combined rider/bike weight so that you can have blue plates.

It's a long story (a certain Moderator would need to explain), but I like to think of it as my badge of honor.  A showing of love and affection if you will.  :thumb:

lets do it KC. come down south with me for a few seasons. run trackdays and all that good stuff then we can come back as LW amatuers. Ive got a couple SV's sitting around, im sure I could piece together another few bikes not too far off my old superbike if I had a few years.
