Did you hit the Air Fence at Blackhawk Farms Raceway? Racing or track day.
Please contact Tom at Blackahwk Farms,tmenke@blackhawkfarms.com, he'd like to set you up for an interview about it's safety.
Thanks in advance from Tom!!!
I have not had the pleasure... damnit!
Me either. :banghead:
What about if you didn't hit the airfence, but it would have been much better if you had? I remember seeing Jeff K. hit the bare tires in front of me in turn 4 and it looked like it hurt a whole lot! I am glad they have air fence there now!
Same here. I missed the air fence by that much this year!
well damnit.......aim better!
how does that go again, look where you want to go.... oh wait, never mind.

Dave, you don't hit airfences...you avoid them all together! Wasn't it you who I saw on
the other side of the wall in T1 at Topeka? (not that I recall there actually being an airfence at that spot)
Yeah, I kind of ride tracks to mitigate risk. Some long stories about Topeka, but there was an opportunity to use the faster T1/T2 and reduce risk...
I crashed in Turn Alpha, yes. Threw Jason's bike over the wall. My approach to the corner saved me, and I was off my regular line. So, I do feel lucky. I went over the wall to get the bike going. I did get it running down there fifteen feet below the track surface, but it took a truck to get it up and out to Jason for the rest of the weekend. Race was going so well before then. Kind of embarrassing.

Sorry Bernie, a dwarf and a midget at the same time doesn't really qualify as a 3-way.

Nah, it was cool, at least you didn't get hurt like others who met the wall that weekend. I just remember in TC that you were flying and when I came up over the crest on the straight and started leaning and trailing for T1, a few seconds behind you, I saw you standing on the other side and wasn't 100% sure how you got there. Anyway, was just glad that you didn't get hurt.
That same race I highsided in whatever turn is the sweeping up-hill left-hander before the short straight that leads to the chicane and broke a rib...all without the help of a wall even!
