dont know from personal experience.. Geoff May (did well in daytona 200) was at Jennings GP this summer. with the hot afternoon temps, he said his times were 1/2 second faster on the DOT tires.
i know there is a carcass construction difference too but dont know what the diff. is..

Just use the DOT's, you meathead. You got a long way to go before you know the difference. Ha, ha. See you at BHF the 1st weekend.

Probably not worth all the aggrevation.

If you get your bike to handle correctly in one configuration, it might not be exactly the same with a slick UNLESS the contour, the shape, of the slick were exactly the same as the DOT and if the construction and compound allowed it to work over bumps the same way.

I mean, ultimately, you need to learn the finer points of speed and patience.  You could probably handle the change, but is it really necessary?  Cost?
