Title: Fizzer question
Post by: Jeff on March 20, 2003, 07:03:37 PM
Anybody know if a 17" F2 or F3 rear wheel would bolt up to an FZR-6?

FZR6, or 4?  The f2 rear is good in the 4, but requires custon spacers and f2 caliper.  Should work in FZR6 too, but I never did one.

Looking for the 600...  I thought the spacers and caliper would be a definite issue, but I wasn't sure about axle size, width or anything else that would prevent it from working...

A FZR-6,  what's going on here? Are you building a lightweight cheater? Cool.

Jeff, I don't know if this helps (or fits) but I have a set of wheels/axles/spacers/sprocket/etc from a YZF600.

One problem you are going to find with putting a 17" rear on an FZR600 is that the bottom of the shock linkage is going to bottom out on the swingarm cross member before you can achieve optimim ride height/swingarm angle. I built a pretty fast FZR back in 93 with an inverted GSXR front end, 17" Techno wheels and a seriously built motor. What a great bike when the head gasket stayed in tact. Get someone to reweld the crossbrace in a different position though.
