Recently at the NESBA fund raiser, Bob and the attendees at their Chili Cook Off raised some big bucks for Blackhawk's air fence via the Road Racing World Action Fund.
Tom Menke of Blackhawk has long wanted to have a day to raise additional funds for air fence too. This day is on Monday October 13th with the support of the current owners of Blackhawk. Anything raised will go to air fence. I think Tom would be happy to continue making changes to the track and adding more and more air fence.
Is anyone going to make it out?
Don't forget, you can also donate directly to the RRW Action Fund and ear mark your donation to any track that you may frequent.
Awesome. What are the day's events going to include? Trackday or something else?
Yeah, exactly. I'm unsure of Tom's exact details. I'm out of the loop on everything. I just race.
I am trying to get some details though. :thumb:
Cool, get 'em and post up. We know you're not shy.
As far as I know, it's mostly just a track day, run pretty much like the other BHF trackdays. :) Not sure how or where to sign up.

I'm waiting for that information right now. Might be some food involved.
Food is good. ;)
I think an appearance by the Sock Monkey might be in order.
I spoke with Mike Casey while at Indy this past weekend and he mention it is the 13th and would be run same as a normal track day.
This just in, Mike Stone, guitarist for Queensryche will be doing his very first trackday at Blackhawk Farms on 9/24 along with his brother Dave.
Tell him to being some money to the 13th date.
Some details on the Air Fence Track Day, if one has been to any organizations' track day at Blackhawk, you know that local ordinances mean that the track is live from 9AM to 430PM. Steve Robinson is going to have a little nicer lunch in that he's going to make his world famous pork chops on the open grills for everyone. Yes, lunch will be a little longer than normal, so that will cut into your overall track time, if that's what you're looking for.
Registration will be on the Blackhawk Farms website, but I don't believe that will be available until after September 25th. Cindy Robinson of Blackhawk will be handling all the usual details of lunch, registration, cornerworkers, and so on. So, I'm sure that Cindy would be able even to take your registration at the next Blackhawk Farms race coming next weekend.
Obviously, some racers don't do track days. Maybe this is an opportunity for some of us to do a track day, or provide a donation as an alternative, to put down some more air fence at Blackhawk Farms.
Too bad it's a Monday when most folks have to work...........

Monday!
I plan on going that monday. I think we can set-up Sunday, right??? I managed to get my Buell set-up for the last BHF track day and the following race weekend. It was fun, although the bike not having the right set-up made it difficult to race with. I am hopefully bringing about 2-3 other people out for the track day, and it sounds like a great time. We'll be in tow, with donations and ready to ride at one of our last shots at getting in track time for 2008. Hope it's a good turn out. If it's anything like the one in September, there was almost more riders there than the following race weekend. It was a great turn-out.
It's a shame, but it seems like staffing in corners has been a little light this year at many events. I think I have 2 people to help with that and will contact the organization.
Hope to see ya'll there,
