Title: legality racing "up a class"
Post by: ton on September 08, 2008, 11:37:36 AM
i don't see anything specific in the rulebook...

say i prepped an R6 to MW superbike specs (no longer SS legal)...  is it legal to run that bike in HW or UL supersport?  or does it become a "superbike only" legal machine?

thx,
mark

Superbike only.  Or GP.  Going up displacement sizes is ok, as in heavyweight, unlimited.  Once you've left the spirit of the rules, the production nature of "supersport", you can't run it.

ah.  yes.  good reality check.  "spirit of the rules, production nature of SS"  i was thinking from simple HP/competitive advantage standpoint.

thanks!
