Title: SV for internals
Post by: funsizeracing on June 23, 2008, 03:47:23 PM
How hard is it to switch the fork internals on SV forks?   I want to take the springs out of the slightly bent set and put them in the straight set.

And make sure you have a left-handed, Metric, Crescent wrench for working on those forks.

I take it you either have stock damper rod forks, or an emulator kit? If so you dont even need a fork spring compressor and it will be very simple. Are you just changing the springs or all the internals? Remember when removing the caps they will be under some pre-load, not alot, but some, so be ready for it when you get to the last thread or so on the caps. If you have any questions on how to do it, I can walk you through it, let me know.
