Title: Rear subframe broken at the tail end (how important)...
Post by: r1owner on June 18, 2008, 12:08:22 PM
While getting my bike prepared the other night, I noticed that the rear subframe is cracked right in the middle at the very back.  My question is, how important is it that it NOT be cracked?  Will it effect the handling?

I doubt it will affect the handling. The only thing the sub frame does is support the rider. so, if its cracked to the point where it can't do its job (hold you up), then i guess it would affect the handling, because you wouldn't be to happy.

Thanks Brent.  How are you doing?  You going to be at Road America?

Nope.  Going to Houston that weekend for a CMRA endurance round instead.  Are you going?  If so good luck and have fun!
