Regardless of the Summit Point seal-a-thon - I'd like to add NJ MSP to the schedule
It'd make up for dropping Roebling Road while bolstering the Mid-Atlantic region

There should be two open weekends available since the Shenandoah circut isnt being run at Summit.

Barber is a little out of the Mid-Atl too IMO its a combined ASRA/SE/SO/MA event. There could/should be open dates avaiable to add in some new tracks.

i've heard from a reliable source that CCS will not be racing there.  the track rental fee is too high.  personally i would pay extra for race entries to be able to race there.

+2 here... How can it be that much more expensive than VIR? If WERA races there I'll start riding with them... Beaver Run, Summit Point and NJRP... The non-summit tracks are just too far for me and I hate NH.

It is still on the radar for 2009, coordinating a schedule that works with existing tracks and prevents competition for existing rider base will be essential with the rental fees.

(keep in mind this is a best efforts at trying to remember the conversation)  At VIR last September we sat at a table next to Kevin Elliot during dinner and he mentioned NJMP at that time would only rent the track out for three days Fri, Sat and Sun and they wanted something like 40K for the rental, that would make it the most expensive track on the circuit, I think he said even more then Road America.  At that price it would not be possible for CCS to race there.  Don't quote me on the particulars but basically it came down to if NJMP would not change the pricing structure, it would not be possible for CCS to race there.  Eric is making it sound like perhaps now that the opening is getting closer, perhaps NJMP is more willing to negotiate.  Great work!!!

We have two options that may work for an event at NJMP, we will fill you in if either option becomes reality.

Yes, scheduling will be the tough part, as always.

I overheard a CCS person saying the same about the price.  I think it was 3 times what Summit Cost.

Well there is a breaking point and 40k seems to be even beyond a breaking point... but I'm sure at 3 times the cost of Summit it's going to be 5 times the track. Especially after what we've heard these past few days...

I have a track day there next month with TPM.  They sent out a survey asking us if we would be ok if they add another group so there would be 4 groups.  My response was why would I want to have less riding time for the same price?  I think the track day was around 200
