Title: Tire Sponsorship
Post by: matt418 on April 14, 2008, 08:42:15 AM
I'm looking for a tire sponsorship this season. I know it is a little late to start. Does anyone know anyone that I can talk to with Bridgestone or Michelin? I'm racing the Blackhawk series in the midwest. Or does anyone know anybody that I can buy good take offs from this season?

Any help would be great.

Thanks-

April fools day was 13  days ago!  You're right, you are late. :lmao

Buy your tires from the trackside vendor and build the relationship.  That's all you can do.  Seriously...

On most bikes, you can plan on 2 rears to 1 front, so that will save you money too.  Personally I'd tell you to buy new tires over take-offs so that you can experience tire wear and traction differences in the life of a tire vice having something that may save you a few bucks but be inconsistent...

Thanks for the suggestion. Ive been lazy over the winter and wasn't sure what my plans were. The Bridgestone guys pmed me and I think that I will go with them. Any other suggestion wouldn't hurt. Thanks again for the help.

I would suggest Michelin. Tommy Mason @ MRT http://www.masonracintires.com/ is always @ bhf and they give exceptional support. Michelins have excellent grip and last longer than any others! (I've never seen Bridgestone support in the midwest but maybe this year) As far as sponsorship, don't get your hopes up

Michelins are great, and my suggestion too. But just to let you know there will be a Bridgestone rep at BHF this year.  :thumb:

Tommy is one of the best in the business, great guy to establish a relationship with for racing.  Ive been out for 2 yrs now and IF I came back there wouldnt be a second thought about using somebody else. He will even sell you take offs if your on a low budget just ask he usually has some good one around.
