Title: Moto-ST
Post by: klebs01 on March 31, 2008, 04:53:03 PM
Has anyone notice that Road America has Moto-ST as part of the AMA weekend?  The schedule isn't posted yet, but I wonder how they are going to fit that in.

it was scheduled to be a part of the AHRMA event - but now it seems the Moto-ST event will be run with the AMA weekend - a press release is being prepared by Grand-Am - Moto-ST.

See e:mail reply below from Gene Crouch

and the updated schedule for RA - http://www.roadamerica.com/images/main/08_season.pdf

Paul:

Catching up on past emails.  Road America will now be held on the same weekend as the AMA race, June 8.

We have made the change to the online schedule and Penny is working up a press release as we speak.

Looking at the schedule, they gained some time/space by moving the sidecars to the AHRMA weekend.

I posted this over on the cornerworkers area shortly after Daytona.

I work with AHRMA and am a sidecar racer.

By March 11th the change was in place.

In either case both weekends and the time in between will be
a good time for racers and bikers alike.

DMG (formerly AMA) head Roger Edmondson has always enjoyed endurance racing--EBC series back in the day-and will find a way to make the time to fit Moto ST in. Would love to see DMG expand endurance racing beyond the twins only format.

Wow, I haven't attended a Moto ST round yet. Is there gonna be enough room in the paddock for AMA+MotoST+Vendors?

Usually during combined events the Moto-St paddock is the smallest.... Iowa Speedway last year they stuck us in a very small fenced in area and we all fit with no problem.... Road America's paddock is large enough that there shouldn't be a problem.... I'm pretty sure that they will use the new paved area that we couldn't use last season for the AMA....

Thanks for the heads up, Paul, I've made the changes to my shop schedule. Are there going to be any more upcoming date changes?
