Title: CMP gearing???
Post by: quicktoy on March 28, 2008, 07:13:59 AM
I've never been there and wondering what most 600 guys are running.  I realize each bike is different, but do you get a lot of speed there like roebling where u basically go 1 up in the rear or one down in the front? or is it like jennings..where I run 1 down 2 up?
im running an 08 zx6r but any 600 will give me an idea

thanks

-1/+2  would be a good start.  gear for the turns.  if you're on a 1000 you'll only make time on the long straights.  if you're on a 600 you're trying to make time every where else.

and yes, watch out for the sand.

The sand shouldn't be a problem anymore with the revisions. You also don't have to gear for slow corners anymore since it all flows.

so minus the front and change the rear only if needed.

it's turns 2-7 where most people seemed to lose time, I guess we'll see if that changes but if not that's where the gearing changes are needed most.

i know that at the april races last year no one was keeping up with the front two guys and I know one of them was -1/+2.
