Title: Las Vegas 5/3-5/5
Post by: Zanyeights on April 22, 2002, 03:57:08 PM
Can anybody tell me if there is camping at the track, if they have showers, gate open and close times, and where I can find a track map?  I went to the LVMS site and all they have is a generic pic and I can't tell anything from that.  Thanks.

Ryan

If it's like last year, no camping. In fact security was rather pit-nazish. The track was real smooth. Southwest region isn't very good about making track maps available. Perhaps there will be something available race-day.

The facility is not set up for camping at this time. We are working with them to make things beter every trip, hopefully we will have better news in September.

I cannot get a track map from the speedway, so if someone has an aerial photo, send me a copy and I'll make one!

See you in Vegas.

Thanks Kevin.  I have a layout from Good Ole Mongrel but just wanted to confirm camping and showers.  When I asked the same question about Phoenix somebody said no but you had comeback and said yes...so I just wanted verification.

Would it be possible to include this information on the CCS pages when viewing track info?  I was planning to camp at vegas but am now looking into hotels.  Does Buttonwillow and Streets of Willow allow camping (someone was bound to ask)?  I'm asking cause I need to decide which trailer to bring, car hauler (not much gas) or toy hauler (tons of gas).

Buttonwillow & Willow Springs allow camping. The gate for both is open till midnite Friday for late arrivals. Buttonwillow has hookups if you reserve them & a fee.
