Title: Welcome
Post by: Admin on September 26, 2001, 05:46:48 PM
WELCOME!

I'd like to welcome everyone to the "Unofficial" CCS Message boards.  I started these boards because I'm fairly new to motorcycle racing, and when I first started looking around, I found WERA (//www.wera.com) who had a wonderful board where there members could meet and talk about everything under the sun.  It allowed me to "ease" into the world of motorcycle roadracing by learning things and meeting people prior to going to my first race.  It also allows there to be great comraderie both at the track and at home.

So, after talking with Kevin Elliot of CCS, I decided that I would open up a place where CCS members/potential members/friends/and all others could meet to discuss things of interest, whatever those may be.  I also hope that Kevin Elliot or other members of the CCS organization might drop in here every once and a while and get some feedback on how things are going in CCS, what might be done to make it better, and to just generally help bring CCS closer to home for everyone.

Anyway, if you have any questions, comments, etc, please, post them or email me!  Also, please pass along to others that these boards exist.  I look forward to meeting many new friends and discussing many interesting topics.

Thank you,
Shawn Morgan

I know one person experienced an issue trying to post their first message.  If anyone else has this problem, please let me know.

Thanks,
Shawn

James, welcome!  I've never been to Loudon, as I'm down here in (sunny?) Florida.  It must be quite a challenge (even above the norm) for you to ride.  I'm sure people would be interested in your story.  Start a new post if you get bored and let us know how you got into racing.

Thanks for setting this up, I will get a link to the board on my site as soon as I can.  By the way what did Kevin say about the board they had set up (it was up for only 2 or 3 days).

Well...not sure whether I can disclose the actual reason behind them not being able to run one (I'll see if he wants to come on here and talk about it), but suffice it to say that they are unable to run a board at the current time.  Hopefully that will be immaterial, since a board is made up of its members, not its maker!

Thanks for the words of encouragement!  I also hope the board catches on.  I'm going to do everything I can to help out, learn, and get to know more CCS racers!

Yes, I remember talking to you, James. You've also met Tom Fournier, who has not been slowed down one bit by the loss of his right leg (4th place Pro Thunder at VIR). As a matter of fact, there seems to be no difference at all, but that handicapped parking permit sure comes in handy in Daytona!

At Daytona The parking NAZIs are real pricks. They seem to still give people a hard time about parking anyway.the handicap parking is usually down nwest of the ticket area so i have to walk longer than if I didn't have the damned tag.I tried to park near the Honda display area and got threatened with physical violence.I even had a legitimate pass to be in the area from a Honda sales rep that I know.No luck,"Park down there or I'll kick your ass and tow your truck".can you believe that?
