there was talk during the MOTO-ST race/meetings that the event for Road America will be during the AMA weekend....
Paul did you hear anything in the meetings that only VIR is for sure, and that rounds after that are not definite?
hey pj721, get a job

yes...as of the running of Moto-ST @ Daytona...the only other event on the schedule that is locked in is VIR.
I'm guessing from the info going around on the web...see http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2008/Mar/080306b.htm there is suppposed to be an announcement this weekend about the staus of AMA promotional rights and guess well see then if Moto-ST/Grand-AM is involved.
will be very interesting to see how this all plays out
....Daytona 200 FX qualifing starts @ 1:30 pm eastern.....

Unless they're willing to pay a lot of money for extra days, the contracts with tracks are already signed for 08 as well as the Red Bull contract so there really is no way to slot in an Endurance race at any AMA round until 09 at the earliest.
guess we'll see ...
I was thinking the same thing.....how would MOTO-ST fit in on a AMA schedule....cuz running with CCS/ASRA @ Daytona and Road America last year made for some very busy weekends...
I know I'll be checking the web tomorrow morning...

Yeah, agreed.
MotoST endurance isn't really a spectator driven program. I see where it works find with AHRMA, as it is scheduled.
Still supposed to be coming to Heartland Park Topeka in August. No AHRMA there, but maybe something else will be happening there.
Well it is official,
Daytona group (Edmondson/France) is taking over most AMA races, Roadrace, Flattrack, Hillclimb, Motocross, ATV and Supermoto while Live Nation takes over Supercross and Arena Cross, No mention of Ice racing (did AMA sanction ice races still?)
This evenings press confenrence will probably talk about when the changes will go into effect, what/when officials will take over, class changes, and what changes in direction will be planned. In the near future discussions of how this may or may not effect ASRA/CCS as well as the other regional racing should be forthcoming.
This can only be a big improvement for the sport.
Wow. This is huge.

That was a long read, but worth it.
Like I mentioned in the other thread, I think Roger Edmondson will be a great thing for AMA Pro Roadracing AGAIN. My only real concern is if the Daytona Motorsports Group that he works for tries to NASCAR-itize it too much (like throwing a yellow flag right before the end of the race strictly to tighten up the field for the finish - how fake - if someones running away with the win then great for them, they brought a better 'A-game' than the rest of the field and maybe even encountered a little luck). I look forward to seeing the direction Roger leads AMA Pro Roadracing. :thumb:

All the conflicting dates are a ways off so they have time to get people in place.
I don't see them taking Moto-ST to laguna nor do they have time in the event schedule there, but it would be cool to see the New Jersey date move to Road Atlanta and run along side the AMA event.
heck no......I want the new track in NJ...only about 3 hrs from all of us on the team! ....and really not sure how it's all going to work with running on AMA weekends...
I'm guessing they are going to run the MotoST on the AMA Road America weekend this year and see how it works and maybe schedule more combined weekends in for 2009. Or it could very well stay the way it was for 2007 and run w/CCS and Grand-Am cars...time will tell but It sure is going to be very interesting :thumb:
now back to my Guinness......Happy St. Patricks's Day
