Title: suspension work
Post by: TZDeSioux on March 04, 2003, 06:53:19 PM
unfortunately...I will be getting my new TZ  1.5 weeks before the first race at blackhawk. I will need to have some suspension work done since the bike will be setup for a Japanese smurf. I don't feel comfortable sending out the forks to any suspension tuner just incase I don't get it back by the race weekend. So I figure my best bet is to either take it to 4&6 which is 15 minutes from where I live or drive up to Milwaukee and go see Brian Baker. I will be getting the forks completely revalved and resprung for my weight. Who would you take it to? Anyone know what the turn around time is on suspension work?

I would just do it myself. :P

LOL! You think Brian would work on revalving a cartridge fork? If he did, the wheel would fall off!!

Does 4&6 have what you need in stock? How about Baker? What kind of turnaround can they give you?

It's always good to get out of town for a drive...just you and a few motorcycle parts to talk to.

I can just hear that conversation.  "Oh my pretty and expensive new parts.  You've got to help me.  These two fat guys on vintage bikes keep whuppin my @$$.  Every time I spend two grand and find another second, they step up their riding and pass me again!"
The part gleams expensively on the passenger's seat, saying nothing...

numbskullz-113, sorry I missed the joke.

this is what I do for a living, rebuild racing suspension.

I have done many TZ's, and yes I can have everything done in a few days.

I've never even taken fork apart in my life. As a matter of fact.. I've never even changed oil in my forks. Where's my tank decal?  ;)

And then Casper and I stepped up again...  What are you going to do this year without me to race against and outspend?  I almost feel bad for changing classes!

Quotenumbskullz-113, sorry I missed the joke.

I misread his comment at first too.  numbskulz was responding to TZ_Boy's suggestion that Brian "Super_Duck" do his own work, not to having Brian Baker do the work.  I think it was a dig at Super_Duck, not you.

LOL!!! Ooops, sorry Brian "Baker", I did not mean you. I meant Brian Kwak, like it was already stated. In other words, my point was that maybe it's not a bad idea to drive it up to you instead of having 4&6 do it...even though they are only 15 minutes away.

I know "BRG" can do good suspension work...and great tire warmers  ;)

BTW, Baker, this is Edgar, CCS #113. Take care.

Rev Kwak are you having a Daytona 200 party and you didn't invite me?  I'll bet you have a big screen to.  I have your sticker's/decal's where's the TZ?

Actually having a 200 party sounds like a good idea!
