Come on folks, I lurk here and on the WERA board. LRRS is a part of CCS and I feel embarrassed that the CCS folk aren't as vocal and inane as our WERA brothers and sisters. Post them up. Us LRRS folk still have two months to go. Heck, the NEAR list is more active.
For ever, I wanted to get into motorcycle racing but, life and sh$t happens. The last few years I thought of it again. At 41 years old, I decided I was just to old to go to the track with a bunch of young guns looking to be the next Rossi.
I just happened to meet a guy who was willing to help change the tires on my Bandit. Not only was he an MSF instructor, he was also a retired racer. Tab doesn't race anymore but he keeps his schools and paperwork current enough to run open practice and what not.
The devious bastard had me pit for him enough times that I couldn't take it anymore. I learned that not only wasn't the racing community comprised of pants around the knee's Rossi wannabee's, but just your average cool folk of all ages. I started doing Tony's and working for the U.S. Marshalls ( if you ride, you should work...period ). I suck so bad that I'm thinking of seeing if they'll let me race.
Come on folks, this is just a couple of enthusiasts screwing around. I'm sure you guys and gals can do better. POST UP !!!!
Before you post crap, I know it sucks.

At the end of the slide show there is a moment of silence and a picture of the BBQ for Connor LaFrance (and other ).
I never met you but, you'll be remembered for ever. Rest in peace, Connor.
ok,
But I was saving all these highlight vids for a special occasion after I put them all into the compilation movie I'm making for my 1st year racing.
as for the rossi wanna be's you , imo, need to get to the MW circuit because I have only ran across MAYBE a thimble full of them in my rookie season (07). Most of all the racers I've met are like brothers all out for the same thing. One hell of a good time.
btw, nice vid

there's one thign about your vid that struck me deep.
the tune
back in '06 I ran into an experience that I messed up at.
I was faced with my past in the present and I failed.
It resulted in my messing myself up real bad with an injury list that is quite extensive. Minor list is fractured orbital, dislocated shoulder, lost a Lot of flesh, dismembered left index finger, tons of ligament and tissue damage, and the list does go on and on.
I prevailed.
I wasn't able to walk for two months and when I was I JUST got the pins taken out of the finger that was reattached to my hand and I HAD to ride. no question.
I had a self preservation that kept me from riding with my ego and Many many friends on and off the track that supported me though all of it.
anyways, one of my good friends made this video of my 1st time back on the track for me with him and I as video cams.
Thank you for yur video and I hope you enjoy my friend's

Thanks
Very Cool - I like the first vid... That's me just in front on the left at the start - but it show just how bad my starts were :banghead:
BTW - The MWGP link isn't working
thanks for the link advise
I have a whole bunch of pics of you and I at BFr... I'll try and isolate them
Here's an awesome shot of me learning to breakdance at a Jennings GP trackday.

The flying Triumph is mine. I was sideswiped by a kid on the GSXR600 - he hit me from behind into One, with his front brake locked (?!?). It was the fourth lap of the day.
And the reason I now own a race-only GSXR750!
gntbldr - Nice videos. You got a couple of shots of me in there. Were the graffics about passing my slow ass really necessary? It was my first weekend of racing after only about 4 track days.

Super cool photo. I'm hoping you were ok. (Although I'll bet the bike wasn't)
Are you going to try out for "So You Think You Can Dance?"
here's my only videos i'm willing to post. i fiddle around with pics when i'm board at work

That's why I chose it. The last few years have been horrible for my wife and I. Going to the track is the only thing that has provided a small amount of joy in my life. I'm glad I finally jumped in. The racing community is the best.
This is great stuff, keep it coming folks.

I'm sorry you took offense to that. I was just trying to be comical and I really wasn't ragging on you being slow. my appologies and I'll redo the entire video and take out the comments.
I was just trying to be funny and I meant nothing by it.
Jim
edit: I want you to know that imo you were doing real good out there. You were very predictable and smooth especially if that was your 1st weekend in the mix.
I may have a more footage of you. If you'd like, pm me what dates and classes you raced at BFR and I'll go through what vids I have and see.
No offence taken. Don't worry about it. I was joking too. I should have used a sarcasm emoticon. I really looked slow there. Hopefully I'm faster than I was then.
I think the funnier part was in the first video on the start. I'm pretty sure the english country home mercedes from top gear could have gotten off the line faster than I did.
lol,, now that's pretty funny then.
cause the new vid is almost done being uploaded.
hey, I'm going to be going through all my pictures for the season soon to see which ones I can find of Jason that I might have.
mind posting up a pic of your bike and you in your gear so I can see if I have any since I'll be going through them all anyways?
I'm off of work for another months getting surgery done on both my hands and I'm bored
another vid from that trackday back in september of 06

gntbldr, great stuff!!
More, more MORE !! Come on folks, this is some good stuff. Some of you LRRS folks, post up! I know you got video, I saw plenty of you guy's set up with vid cams.
gntbldr, Hey jim I just watched all 38 mins. of your compilation. Real nice. Spoot and Gron take great pics. I would post something however I have almost zero computer skills. Hell, I can barely walk and breath at the same time. See ya at the track soon.

yeah they do,. and this season spoot's going to be rockin a lens that's similar, if not just like, the ones Mike and Andy from Gron4 use.
hey, do you have them sequence pics that spoot got of your crash at bfr?
those would be some real good ones to put in this thread

I like how you let them two guys get their spots back.
good to see I wasn't the only one having a bad T5 day ;)
great vid

wolf44
"ebay here I come" Thanks for the humor!!
Thanks, it was the right thing to do. I just wish I hadn't slowed down THAT much to let them by! :)
T5 was definitely kicking my butt! I think the fact that it's pretty downhill there makes it deceiving.
Your compilation vid rocks! You did a great job on it.
Thanks Scott. This season I'll be running two little all weather cams (http://www.goprocamera.com/index5.htm) so I can run vid rain or shine for my 1st season running EX.
Sure Jim, kick a guy when he is down. I have the pics/slides but like I said, I have absoulutly no idea how to post them. I'm pretty much a computer novice.
Steve,
If you go to a regular reply button (at the top of this thread just above the first post is a little "reply" text link), instead of typing in the quick reply down here at the bottom of the thread... there will be an "Additional Options" link just to the lower left of the textbox that you key your post in. If you click on that, it opens an attachment textbox with a button next to it. You can select that "browse" button and attach pics that way (by using the windows form to go to the directory where the image is and then click on the image).
They will automatically be embedded in your post.

Bad ass! What track is that from?
Third time is a charm right?
That makes me sick to my stomach.... Glad you weren't seriously hurt.
Thanks for the info on how to post the pics Scott. Never to old to learn something.

Steve,
I can't tell if the photo's are grainy or if that paint job is just so so!!!......it's just amazing to me what get to walk away from.?!
one I like the most was this one.
the look your body says, like,
well this sucks...
It did suck because it was all my own fault. And I had to watch every one racing having a great time. I did have a great seat though.
Anthony, the paint job was alittle rough. I just gave er the 50/50 paint job just for that reason. When you crash they all look the same.

not racing pics. These are my best shots from NESBA mid-west trackdays last summer. there's a few grattan jump pics in there.
cool!, you got one of me at Putnam in September. Thanks!
