Title: WSBK!
Post by: kartstar on February 25, 2008, 08:21:47 AM
I'm sure most of you saw the action yesterday, but if not I won't spoil...

HOW ABOUT THE ACTION, THOUGH?!?! There's two halves to both races - the first half when the tires are all good, and then the second half when the riders are all amazing! Bayliss' control of the factory Duc with a wasted front tire blew my mind - he actually evolved in the period of three laps!

It would appear that the new rules will make for some much closer racing...hope the new Kawis come into form.

it was much better then AMA superbike where one team runs away and no one is near each other to even challenge someone in the front

For those that missed it like myself, SPEED is showing both of the Superbike races again tomorrow (Tuesday) around noon and the Supersport race on Wednesday - Set your DVR's!  :thumb:

I loved every minute of Race 1. I'm a Bayliss fan and I was blown away by his sheer desire to win the race, even after putting the duc in the dirt on a coner exit more than once. It is amazing what a talented rider can do even when things aren't going well. Everything from Bayliss blowing the lead by running wide to his charge back to the front and the final last corner pass on Biaggi was simply awesome. It was definately the most entertaining race I've seen in awhile.

Biaggi and Haga where awesome. After all the snow and crap it's nice to be able to at least watch some racing and it's so much better when no one person is just flat walking away with it. It made for a nice couple of hours in my pj's hugging my coffee cup.

Amen! At some point in the second race, I found myself yelling, "Now where the hell did he (Bayliss) come from?!?!?"

Poor Haga - let emotion get the best of him...OUCH.

And the Xaus-Biaggi battle...OMG that was some inspired, yet very clean and professional, sparring!

...It's gonna be a great season in SBK. I only hope MotoGP delivers the same excitement.

WSBK is sooooooo much better than MotoGP and AMA Superbike.   It might be the best series out there, just a gnats hair above or below F1 depending on the track.

That would be the point where I was yelling at the TV. "Damn it, Haga. Why the hell did you do that!" Then I stared at my wife daring her to question my sanity. She just laughed and shook her head! lol
