In todays BB weekly ad flyer, in the Tri-State area. Best Buy is featuring pictures of an R1 ridden by a rider in full gear. 27 photo impression on 23 pages.
I am not sure if this is a National ad flyer or
just regional. Either way, it depicts sport riding
with some undertones of safety in mind. Although the last picture shows the rider wheelying, which
contrasts the pictures of rider in full gear. But, I still think it is a progressive, and positive ad campaign.
Maybe BB and their ad agency have some demographics that are showing an increased popularity and market share of sportbikes in the Metro area. Whatever the reason, it is a small victory imo. Now, if only Volvo could have taken the same line of thinking, and not depict motorcyclists as irresponsible and reckless riders...
Cool info. And Volvo's always doing something stupid to try to sell their boxey-ass rats. Just hope they realize how many motorcyclists there are that need cars.
BTW, the rider is Gary Carter.
Oh, and it is a national campaign that was pushed because of the Daytona weekend coming up...
