Title: Michelin Tires For Homestead
Post by: Toves33 on January 15, 2008, 08:54:15 PM
What are the newest and best Michelin tires available? I bought PR2's and PR4's for Homestead last year and I know a few people mentioned that those tires were becoming obsolete.

PRC front and either a PR3 or PR5 rear.  There is a new rear that I have sampled, but I don't know about its availability.  There might be a new front, but I haven't been on that in a DOT version.  Melka might know a bit more.  I think he tested the prototype stuff.  Whether any new product will be available right now?  Probably not.

+1 on the PR-C+ PR3/5 combo. I was told by the Michelin Man the PR4 requires higher ambient temps, >80 or so. He also mentioned the new tires Super Dave alluded to, and said they'd replace the PRC this season, but I don't know if they're out this early

Thanks for the info! I just wanted to make sure before I pre-purchase a bunch of tires. The PRC's sound like a popular choice for the front. I can't wait to see some new compounds to come out this year.
