Title: Solo Challenge and ASRA questions
Post by: gntbldr on December 25, 2007, 01:46:14 PM
Are there any events in the 2008 schedule (http://www.ccsracing.com/schedules/2008/asratcschedule.html#TC) that does not count for points?

For example like the ROC doesn't count for points for the MW CCS season...

Also I think, from what I found through my searching the board and reading the rule book, one doesn't have to have an ASRA license to race the TC/SC. Is that still correct?

Since I am thinking of not running the MW series again and just the SC series would it be worth my while to get the ASRA license regardless just in case I want to run any of them races since I'll be there anyways?

From what I read in a few areas is that the ASRA series has a whole different feel to it than what I experienced my first round of club racing this year in 07 with CCS MW. So if someone has ran the ASRA races can you give me a comparison or a breakdown on what it's like racing that series?

the ROC doesn't count for points in any region that i know of

you don't need an ASRA license to run t he TC/SC

but you do need one to race the ASRA races which you need to have an expert license except for thunder bike

i personal like the ASRA races just because its cool to have to qualify for your grid and its national so you get to get beat by fast people from all over instead of just in your region

but all the ASRA and TC/SC races aren't the same weekend but most are

Well, your first race was at HPT in April.  Jammed like a lot of regular ASRA weekends.  USGPRU was there.  RA was jammed in a bit too, but it usually is one way or another.

Gary....get postin'...LOL!

Thanks guys.
With 07 being the first time every racing sportbikes I didn't kknow what was crowded or not for each track that held multiple racing series or what have you
So with the change of racing plans from sprints and GT's to SC I'll be yet in another foriegn territory.

Looks like I'll pay for the ASRA license too just in case I get the itch to try it all out.

Heck... maybe even post enter for a few MW CCS events too... never know.

Now the next step after SC might be Moto-ST if the SC thing works out well for me.

Yeah, what Gary said is prety much how it is. The ASRA sprints are fun, but not all ASRA pro series events scheduled coincide with the ASRA TC/SC. The pro-license isn;t much ore money. And if you finish in the top 10, the purse is decent and covers the entry fee!

But like Dave said, RA and Topeka are quite jammed. Especially RA with the TC/SC and Moto-ST also.

Good luck in the SC gntbldr; I look forward to seeing you there!
