I got busted a few too many times when I lived in Illinois and was required to hold high risk insurance for three years. I called Progressive and got high risk on an old CBR F3 just to have something to turn into the state BMV. High risk liability is $98.12 per year.

Pay the bike off and get just enough to cover your butt if you happen to send it sailing through somebody's windshield and be done with it.

the go to liability and forget the full coverage. just make sure you keep it locked up and the key out of it when not riding.

What did you request for a deductible?

If it was low, request a quote for the highest deductible they'll give you.

Looks like to me that they are trying to push riders away from them. I used a $1000 deductible as well.

i stay away from progressive
They wanted 9 grand to insure a 6500dollar bike
I go though country now, saved me a bunch of $$ and they have all of my business now.  they were also great when I got rear ended and the other company was trying to push blame.

I am currently using Progressive to insure my street bike and my wife's street bike. (06 K1200R and 03 SV 650S) My policy is only $61 per month for both bikes.  Some companies vary greatly by the actual bike.  We both have clean driving records, but she has less than 1 year experience riding??
I guess it is a crap shoot???
