i've hauled 2 sv's on a 5x8 open trailer pulled by a sedan for the last 6 seasons---worked great.
adding another bike---SO
can i fit 3 sv's on a 6 x12? 61/2x12? or will i need 14 feet?
anyone?
thanks,
drd.
Hey Dr D
you looking at an open 6x12 or enclosed? I think Helmbach's other trailer is a 6 x12 w/V nose...and he can get 3 in there...but he puts the 3rd one tail end in first.
BTW...hows Dan's ankle from VIR?
hey paul--
looking for an open trailer.... don't think the mighty lumina can handle pulling a closed trailer and i'm not interested in buying a truck...but the fact that helmbach can fit 3 in an enclosed 6 by 12 is encouraging... is it a crazy tight fit??
danny's ankle is aok....

ahhh yes the Mighty Lumina!
ahhh it's not that bad...if you get an open one it would be really easy...could have the front 2 bikes pushed out to the edge and overhang the rails....give more room in between for the 3rd bike as that's the hardest part with an enclosed one - tying down the back of the 3rd bike between the other 2.
I'm pretty sure it's a 6 X 12 - I'll double check with him.
Glad to hear Danny's doing good!
Happy Turkey Day!
I had 3 in a 6X12 enclosed (non v-nose). Little snug, but doable.
V-nose trailers have extra tongue weight. So, if you vehicle is light duty, it will get worse with a V.
I've seen people put three road racers in 6x10's.
traveled my AM season in a 6x12 v-nose. actaully ran the first bike in the middle leaving room at the front for cabinets, helmets, stands, tires, tool box etc... then backed the other 2 in. Plenty of room and pretty balanced weight over the axel.
its "cowboy"s on this forum... he doesnt log in much from what I can tell but I bet he has some pics if your looking for ideas. hit me up if you want his email.

It's not the SIZE of the trailer - it's how you USE IT!
you will fit 3 bikes no problem in a 6x12 enclosed or open trailer
