Title: Rear wheel spacers
Post by: funsizeracing on October 16, 2007, 04:48:19 PM
Is it going to hurt anything on an 03 SV 650 if I tapped the rear wheel spacers and the wheel and sprocket carrier to make tire changes easier?

What do you mean by tapped? If you are talking about threading the spacers, wheel and cush-drive I would say don't do it. Threading these will reduce the surface contact between the axle and these parts which will cause wear and slop in the assembly.

My bad, I just realized you meant Taped, sorry. No that would not hurt anything but I don't think the tape will last too long. Probably worth the investment in Captive Spacers.
