Title: Lite-weights ?
Post by: Ripper on February 19, 2003, 02:35:40 PM
In a mailing from Fusa this winter, there was a comment on a rule change, saying that lite weight multi's can only be up to 400cc ,as per the fzr 400.But what about the 'fz' 600 which is a two valver? The fz was eligible in '02.They stated displacement but made no comment on anything else.I'm I missing something here or what?Any info (good/reliable info) would be appreciated.

Go back to the CCS website and check out the 2003 rulebook. You should be able to get your answer there.

I just noticed the new XB9R and pre99 SV's are legal for Middleweight Sportsman. I hope I'm wrong, but I think that may  be real hard on everybody else. I guess if it get's out of hand they can fix it mid season.

The first model year for the SV's were 1999.

I do agree on the XB9R, CCS may need to address this in the future.

Oh it's got push-rod's, anything else would be how should I say "modern".  There I knew I could be polite about it.

LOL!!!!

But there are not too many out there that can plunk $10,000 down for the bike plus another $1300.00 for the chain conversion plus.....

Four cylinder, liquid cooled (oil or water), pre-1990 model year, up to 860cc
Hmmmm.  Take a 1988 FZR400 frame, use the YZF bore with the FZR6 stroke, Carillo rods, 660cc, add flatslides and fuel.....

Hey!  A certian cute little girl with tatoos told me last weekend that my FZR last year was rumored to have been making 126HP!!!  That really makes me proud, because it means that people were so stunned by my incredible riding that they were guessing me 40 extra HP!  Dang I'm good!
(Just for the record, according to the FZR mailing list, the best 560cc motor ever dynoed made 94 HP.  I lacked the headwork, the high compression pistons, and the Newtec, but I'm such a good mechanic that I could build a 126HP motor on a card table at Blackhawk in the middle of the night out of junkyard parts!)

LOL. But that's exactly how Mike Lower built that 94 HP FZR. I't's also how he won 9 regional lightweight championships in one year BEK. (before Ed Key)

Yeah, but the 4-stroke to 2-stroke conversion you perfomed in that 400 block was a stroke of genius, pun intended! :)

Dave if you can get that ol' triple to turn like a XB9R I'll be VERY impressed, just don't run over them on the straight. Be careful on that thing, Kamakasi riders earned their reputation.
I think the rules were intended for older sportsters and Super deep thi... uh, jus hangin on white knuckle Dave.:)

I am making the bike to scare people... ;D

So, when I pass around the outside, don't crash in amazement! 8)
