Title: Someone borrowed a wheel from me at VIR
Post by: hamurobby on September 26, 2007, 09:00:31 AM
I know he was very young, and I don't remember his name (everyone looks young to me  cause im real old ::)) He was walking around looking for a rear wheel for an 06/07 gsxr and I lent him one but it was not returned. He paid a large deposit for it, but it wasnt for sale. I know alot of guys crashed and had a bad weekend, I hope he just forgot to return it and didnt end up on the truck :banghead:  Anyways, if anyone knows him could you let me know what happened and if/how I can get in contact with him or have him contact me. 8)
Thanks,
Robert Dougherty

I would give him the benefit of the doubt, at first.  There is so much going on at the track that forgeting something is pretty easy.  I found two sets of boots at GIR, Sunday night...owners forgot them.  Found the owners online, so all good.

I have lent a lot of stuff to a lot of racers, and only once did someone leave with a loaner (rearset assy) and make no effort to contact me.....very rare incident with racers imho.
It's a good group.... I'll bet you get the wheel back.

Robert, I think the guy was pitted next to me. It was his first race and crashed on Friday and was getting it back together for Sun. He crashed again in T1. He was riding a yellow gxer and his dad told me he found a wheel he could borrow or buy, maybe confusion persists. His dad was towing a small trailer with a Lexus, sorry dont remember name or #

yep, that was pretty neat.  It was cool to see how fast fatboy picked it up.  I told him to imagine how good it would be if the tires didn't have 4 races on them...........he said "What, those are the newest tires Ive ridden on all year!".....LOL.  THats funny

Good job Eric.  Switching from the 600rr to the r6 last year felt weird to me, but you did it in a few short laps.  Way to go
