I had hoped to make MAM as at least crew if I couldn't ride, but that is not going to happen. My arm is in worse shape than originally thought. The CT scan today showed the end of the radius at the wrist is in many, many pieces. Anyway, Friday morning I am having surgery and the plan is for them to install external rods to lenghten my arm to what it was pre-accident while doing internal pins to stabilize the big pieces and hopefully it all comes back together close to what it was before. It sounds like I'll be 8 to 10 weeks recovering, so I'll miss the rest of the year for sure.
I hope everyone has a fun and safe end of the year, and I look forward to seeing everyone at the banquet.
Jack: It was good meeting you in Topeka. Hope everything goes well and you recover fully. I'm going to have full weekend at BHF unfortunately no real chance of a championship - it's kind of out of my control.
steve.
Good luck with your recovery Jack. You really went well on the 600 this year, I was sorry to see you go down at MPH. I hope that maybe next year I can get up to your speed and dice around with you a bit.
See you at the banquet.

Well, I'm now a week post surgery and generally feel like crap still. The countdown is already on for the rods and fixture to be removed. That should be in about 5 weeks, and I'm hoping sooner! Attached is a pic of the arm, should be cooler once I get the dressings off. Thanks for all the well wishes, especially Anthony Dean who always seems to go out of his way-Thanks buddy!
Jack, I did not know your arm was so bad! I had heard from Anthony that they took you to the hospital but never thought you would need pins, THAT SUCKS! That picture makes me cringe. I need to check the MB more often.

Works well, and it's pretty inexpensive.
Nice pic too!
'Tis but a flesh wound. Heal up quick! And take the bone mender stuff. ;)
Becca sent me her extra bone stuff to get started on, then I ordered some. Not only was Seacoast reasonable on price, they shipped quick! I saw the Dr. yesterday and he felt like I was ahead of schedule. Thanks to SD that the people on this board are in the know!
Chris, you need to come to the track more often, not just check the MB!
Glad it's in circulation. I can only take credit for telling everyone about it. My friend Andy Adler, now a retired scientist, told me about it, and Seacoast Vitamins.
