Title: ASRA Lap records
Post by: ahastings on September 10, 2007, 10:14:27 AM
Are the ASRA/FUSA  lap records posted somewhere on the CCS website? I thought I saw them before but can't seem to find them now.

I'd be interested too...I know they were broken and rebroken in a few classes this weekend!

~Great seeing you out there and once again thanks for providing us with such entertainment!

Yes I broke the record for ASRA Thunderbike on lap 3 then Bilansky broke it again on lap 4 , but was told they were announcing it was Nate Kern instead of me. I was just  wondering if they post the actual progression of the records or just the last record. My little SV just needs a little more Umph to run with those Buells and BMW down the straight.

:wah: :wah: They did announce Kern over our worker net as well.  Hopefully someone "in the know" will give the info on if/where the records can be found.

It almost got monotonous the amount of times it was broken and re-broken.

From a press release issued by ASRA: (found on roadracingworld.com)

American Sportbike Racing Association
Championship Cup Series
Summit Point Raceway
September 8-9, 2007

ASRA Pro Series ended its summer run at Summit Point Motorsports Park this weekend with Jeff Wood on his Bettencourt's Yamahas sealing a triple championship season in front of an international crowd of racers and fans. Wood was able to turn two pole positions into three victories under near perfect conditions that saw records fall and champions prevail.

After winning back-to-back Factory Pro Sportbike and ASRA SuperBike titles from 2005 to 2006, Wood returned to his Bettencourt team to score his 2007 Hat Trick of ASRA Pro Superstock, SuperBike and Factory Pro Sportbike titles. This is the third time in three years that Wood has won both SuperBike and Factory Pro Sportbike and the second time in that span he has accomplished the triple championship feat, (2005 and now 2007). Congratulations to Jeff Wood and his Bettencourt's Yamaha team!

The 2007 ASRA Pro ThunderBike Championship revisited Summit Point with Dave Estok, riding the Deely Buell, controlling his own destiny by virtue of a 37-point lead over Dan Bilansky, the 2006 Champion. In Saturday's qualifying, Estok set a new class record of 1:18.058 to grab the Pole Point Award and extend his lead to 38 points with 2 rounds remaining. The Deely Buell rider didn't need the extra point as he won the battle with Nate Kern on the Morton's BMW to take the victory and the 2007 ThunderBike Championship with a 50 point lead after 7 of 8 races. A small consolation for Bilansky was the new race record for ThunderBikes at 1:17.596 while finishing fourth in the event. Congratulations to Dave Estok on his second ASRA Pro ThunderBike Championship!

Also making an appearance at the End-of-Summer Cyclefest were the SRA Sidecars, who joined with the CCS Mid-Atlantic Series regulars to amass 752 entries from 214 riders during the two-day event. Notable winners in the CCS Expert Classes were Ryan Patterson with four wins and Arnold Hastings with three wins, while Amateur riders Greg Bordeleau and Bobby Kim did their part with three wins apiece. Hasting is leading the Mid-Atlantic Expert Overall Championships and his winning performance has put him into position to finish off the chase at the final round in two weeks at VIR.

I found it on the CCS website. There is a link next to the ASRA points. It hasn't been updated yet though. http://www.ccsracing.us/points/2007/Track%20Records.pdf
