Went much better than expected (except for the weather on Friday for the open practice). Special shout out to James C. #377 Amateur (sand bagger) for the two 2nds and the 5th in the money race. Hope Peanut and Steve (#298 and#326) are OK after their respective crashes. See ya at Summit next month.

"I feel fast but everyone else must feel faster"
Im ok. CCS#326 I had a nasty crash coming out of turn 12 in race #12. Thanks for everyone helping my family out while i was in the ER. Thank you ken for all your help and concern as well. If anyone has any information on the guy in front of me who Highsided in 12, please post, I just wanted to make sure he was ok. I was transported to the hospital. No broken bones, lots of bruises, and a concussion, but in once piece, ready to race another day. Well, when the doctors release me back to activities where I may hit my head. ;) ;D
Steve
Steve! Sunday just wasn't our day. I was doing really good before I tucked the front end in 17a. Sky....ground....sky...ground.....that's how that ended. Luckily I think I only broke a toe and the bike faired pretty good.
The worst part was being right there to watch Peanut get off in the same turn. Fortunately he is ok.
Other than that, I am very pleased with my 32nd in GTU and 28th in MW SB. Not bad for my first two races.

I have to say I had an awesome time. VIR was my first race weekend. I finished 12th in the GTO, 8th in HW Superbike and 12th again in the HW SS. Can't wait until Summit next month.

Hey Jake! You did awsome your first weekend. Where you sore on Monday? I was. Are you going to Carolina?

What's up Mark! No, not going to Carolina but I will be at Summit May 11, 12 and on the 10th for the open practice. I was just about to call the shop to get your number to see if you will be going to Summit as well. Hope so, I had a blast last weekend! Oh yea I was sore! You kicked butt too! I see you racked up another trophy for your collection! I will get in touch with you this week to see what is up with Summit next month. Good to hear from you!
Yea I am probably going to run just on Sunday at Summit since I am going to Carolina the weekend before. My Phone #'s are 556-2372 cell and home is 721-4781.
Well, I might just have to go to Carolina. I didn't know you were going. I;ll give you a call and see what your plans are. I would have to go that friday to get plenty of practice being that I have never been there before.
I had a horrifying weekend! I can't even begin to tell you everything that happened to me...but at least I didn't crash, so that's a plus! :D
I'm looking forward to summit this weekend to get back on track!
Laura,
how did you do on Sun afternoon, #14?
Hey mike.. Hows your engine coming along? I hate that it blew up on ya. I was the guy pitted across from you fri/sat. Looks like we both have a lot of work cut out for us. :-[ Steve CCS# 326
Hey Michael! My day didn't get any better! Gearing was wrong...set up on bike was wrong...came in eighth out of eight and went about ten seconds slower than my normal pace at VIR! Nothing seemed to go right last weekend, so watch out Summit Point!!!! :D
Thanks for asking...how is your baby doing? Have you figured out what went wrong yet?
Laura
Steve... were you the one next to me on Fri (in the rain)... working on your bike all day?
Yea, I started working on the bike today, I just finished taking off the pipes, all I have left to do is disconnect the wires, cables, misc junk. Tommorrow, (Friday) I'm 'working at home' ;) (I love my job) and gonna take the engine out and apart. So far, the bottom piston looks fine, nice and oily, compared to the top, all dried out... but I'm gonna replace 'em both like Brian suggested.
I still don't know what happened. I took some pictures today, and I figure I'll post them and see if anyone has any guesses. I hope it's not a repeating problem! If anything, it's a learning experience for me.
Laura, sorry to hear your day didn't get any better... I was hoping SOMEONE would at least turn something good out of the day.
I actually had fun though, experiencing my first race weekend and all, was educational... to say the least. I just hope for no more surprises next time.
Summit Point May 11-12? Hope things go better for ya there. Maybe if I get my act together, I'll be able to come up there for that race.. June 28 VIR is a long way away to wait for my next race.
Yea Mike, That was me. I got the honda fixed, it ran well, Then Wadded up the Suzuki on sunday. Seems I'll always be working on bikes. ???
There are events at Carolina and Roebling before the next VIR. Less bar banging than your average summit. Oh yeah, and you better register 6 months ahead of time unless you want to be in the third wave up there.
Oh yea?... Summit get crowded/popular event?. I've never ridden up there, that' why I was thinking of going sometime
Dude, summit gets the most entries of any track anywhere. Don't even think about entering at the track as an amateur if you want to race. And don't expect to show up, learn the track and be competitive. Try and do a track day up there or something. Summit = crazy fast novices.
Bro, if you get there on Thurs night and use the open practice on Friday, you'll be alright! The track does get a crap load of entries but it is not a technical track. Just flat out fast! Can't wait to see everyone there next month!
