Title: Wanring - crook, thief, scammer - buyers beware
Post by: gpracer15 on August 15, 2007, 07:33:38 AM
Ok board, I have never had to warn anyone about getting screwed over but here goes. This is the first time a racer/shop has screwed me over.

Shop: Cycle Concepts in Manteca, Ca
209-823-9681

Person: Mac Castro (JR Castro)
sickwdit976 at yahoo.com
tidwkcis at yahoo.com
blacknwht on ebay

Deal: My YZF600 motor + cash in trade for a FZR400 motor, 4mm Arias Piston kit, bored cyl to match. Shipping was supposed to happen simultaneously.

Results: I shipped mine, he did not. Cost me $130 through Forward Air.

He picks up my motor almost 2 weeks after I shipped it and called complaining the serial numbers were ground down. I was unaware of that which in fact was the truth. I tried contacting the person who sold it to me off of the YZF600R.com site but no luck. I posted up a topic on the WERA BBS on how to properly handle this.

I ended up telling him worst case would be to ship it back to me...He wanted to think on it. He did, he told me he found a buyer about an hour away. This guy he found had actually contacted me wanting the motor prior but Mac and I all ready agreed on the deal. This guy ended up buying my motor from Mac for $550. He went to Cycle Concepts, talked to Mac and gave him $550. Mac was suppose to ship my parts/motor out with a COD fee of $150 for the difference we agreed on. Its been over a month and I have nothing from him.

Saturday the 11th I finally got someone to answer the phone at Cycle Concepts. I left a message for Mac to call me immediately. I have been calling Cycle Concepts number for over 2 weeks with no answer. I have left numerous messages with my contact info directing Mac to return my call immediately. Later in the day I called again, at the same time Mac had picked up the phone to dial out. I waited till the dialing stopped and then said "Hello", he said, "hey what's up?" I said, "who is this?", he replied, "JR" (Mac). I said, "where is my motor, this is Chuck". He said, "you should have got it all ready". I said, "no I have not, give me the tracking numbers". He said, "sure, hang on"....There was a long pause then the phone went click. Yep, he hung up on me.....I tried to call back for hours but the fax machine kept picking up.....AVOIDANCE? Well wait till he gets tied up in court....!!!!!!!!!!!!

This guy is a crook, several listers from here and Ebay say the same thing. Some are almost like carbon copies of my situation. I am out $550 on the motor, $130 on
shipping, and another $150 for a filled out money order to Mac.

I tried like hell to make my end right. BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!

Chuck.....

BBB cant do shit... all they can do is indicate what a poor business person he is.  doesnt sound like he is too concerned with that.

you need to contact the states attorney general... they can make things happen.

Umm, did you guys forget about this part he wrote in the beginning?

"He picks up my motor almost 2 weeks after I shipped it and called complaining the serial numbers were ground down. I was unaware of that which in fact was the truth."

I was giving him a route to take that would not come back an do this >   :spank:

Even getting the call from the BBB should put a spark under their arses.
