I was running the stock brake stuff and they were always soft, but I put a new brembo master cylinder on and brakes are still awful! I can pull the lever all the way back to the grip! What else should i try???
I assume you've got braided lines also?
Speed bleeders help also.
Assuming you have braided or kevlar lines you're either getting air into your lines or just haven't bled all of it out yet.
Steps:
Bleed the brakes again. Top to bottom, go through a pint of fluid.
Tighten all banjo bolts and bleeder valves
Consider replacing the lines or rebuilding the calipers

Did you try bleeding the banjo bolt up by the master cylinder. An Air pocket always gets trapped up there because it runs slightly up hill.
A brembo on an SV will feel some what squishy because of the vastly improved hydraulic leverage ratio. It will actually flex the entire system.
After the brake system has been bled and it feels like you have enough firmness in the system to stop you, put your helmet on and go for a ride. Be carefull the first time you use the brakes, you will not have to squeeze very hard to stand the thing on its nose.
I rode Ed's bike after he installed his Brembo, Wow!! it was a huge change.
Do what Guy says, personaly I'm gonna let some air back in my system and maybe my lap times will improve! :biggrin:
Another thing about bleeding is to do it GENTLY. If you just grab and release over and over then you churn the big bubbles into really little bubbles and they are really hard to get out. After you have bled the system let it sit over night and the little bubbles will regroup into larger bleedable bubbles.
I also like to put a tight fitting hose on the bleeder screw and put it into a can of clean fluid so that there is no way to draw air back into the system during the bleeding process.

Did you bleed the master cylinder first? Start there first, then work towards the calipers. Everyone forgets this part, which is the most important. Vacuum bleeders work best for what you're trying to do. Good Luck--Big RoNny #498
You should clean your rotors to get all of the pad material off of them.
A wise man told me to buy a rotor hone to clean my rotors and it really works.
I have an 06' GSXR 1000 and had bad brake fade. I rotor honed the rotors and put new pads on and no more fade. Do an ebay search on "rotor hone". It will cost about $35 and a few hours of labor :thumb:
