Title: Blackhawk gate times & camping
Post by: zeroice on August 06, 2007, 04:25:15 PM
Hello!
blackhawk: another new track for me! I'm quite excited to be there!

So what are the gate times? Are passes sold late at night?

I think it's pretty much 24/7 on race weekends.

Don't forget, there's BFR practice available on Friday from the track.  It's less expensive to sign up for that online.

I think I put a link in the calender section here.

Best to call BHF. USually they open at 7am. Theres someone always at the guard shack though. Worse they could say is you'll have to wait.

Camping is free though.

24/7 awesome! If not, I guess I'll just set up tent outside...

camping is free? you mean included in the pass?

what about electricity?

Hey Dave, I wanted to do your practice/trackday but I don't have enough vacation days to burn... Sorry man. So instead I'm registered for the GTO and GTU.

Electricity, if you can get close to it, is $20.

And it's not my practice day.  I just made the post to make things easier for racers.

I've gotten there as early as 6:00pm on thursday, and as late as 1:00am Friday on a race weekend and I've always been let it, no problem.

Early Registration is open on Friday from 5:00pm until 7:00pm.  Saturday and Sunday, race registration opens at 7:00am and is done at the tower.  There is a guard on duty all night and should be able to sell you gate passes to get in.

Is there a charge for the Friday practice?  Also what time is the track open on Fridays, how long is the practice?  This will be the first time I'll be there on a Friday.

Usually $90 if you register early on line, $95 the day of...

usually get 5-6 sessions in on Friday...that is assuming some dumbass doesn't crash the 3rd lap of the first session and they throw a red flag :banghead:

Oh my gosh, Nancy...if you have a chance to go, you should!  That picture was taken at Virginia Beach, Virginia.  I went there to visit my son last March.  There are many hotels located right on Virginia Beach.  I stayed at the Hilton, which was fantastic, but any of the other hotels are nice.  You can even rent bicycles to ride along the boardwalk.

During the summer, there is supposed to be an art fair going on.  There seems to be alot to do there.  We went to a maritime musuem and toured the battleship Wisconsin, which was used during the Gulf War.  We also went whalewatching which was very exciting.  If you get a chance to go to Virginia Beach, go for it!
